Youssef Mohamed
Title of Chapter: First Impressions

Justification: The chapter revolves around Mr. Bennet's secret endeavor to meet Mr. Bingley, after he had refused to do so in front of his family. While, the Bennet girls are anxiously waiting to meet Mr. Bingley, their father had already arranged for them to go to the ball. Specifically, the discussion with the Bennet girls was whether or not. a man's character could be judged in one fortnight. In doing so, the book uses the interaction between Mr. Bennet and Bingley as example of first impressions.

Jane is surprised that Mr. Bingley danced with her twice as she finds him charming. Elizabeth also finds him very handsome and replies by saying that Jane is unaware of her beauty. The sisters argue about Mr.Darcy and Mr. Bingley's sisters and share different opinions about them.

Ahmed Atwa:
Title of Chapter: A Pompous Houseguest
Justification: This chapter revolves around the Bennets' encounter with their houseguest, Mr. Bennet's nephew, Mr. Collins. He spends most of his time talking about Catherine De Bourgh and his relationship with her including how she values his presence and treats him as she would any other gentleman. When asked to read a book to the Bennet sisters, he hesitates and, instead, reads to them from James Fordyce's Sermons to Young Women (1766) which offered conservative advice on female conduct and education.

Ibrahim Abouzeid and Yassin Mostafa
Title of Chapter: A Spontaneous Sleepover
Justification:
This chapter is filled with sudden surprises, as it begins with the unexpected invitation of Jane to Netherfield. Mrs. Bennet forces her daughter to go on horse-back, rather than a carriage, so Jane would be inclined to sleepover at Netherfield. Her clever plan backfires, and Jane gets sick, and stays in Netherfield, but not in the shape Mrs. Bennet had hoped. Elizabeth wants to check on her sister so she then walks three miles, and surprises the Bingleys and Darcy at Netherfield, in which she sleeps over at the manor as well. The Bingleys and Darcey were not expecting such a spontaneous series of events that would require them to invite the sisters to sleepover.

Mariam Basha
Title of Chapter: Desperation
Justification: The most significant part in this chapter is when Mrs. Bennet creates any excuses for her daughters to extend their stay at the Bingley's. Mrs. Bennet is desperate to get her daughters married, and so she is trying her best to push Jane and Mr. Bingley's marriage forcing her daughters to look like beggars. She also made the Bennet's family as a whole look bad.

Aaryan Virani
Title of Chapter: New Beginnings?
Justification: The chapter starts off with the Bennets (a family who reside in Longbourne) hearing the arrival of a newcomer (Mr. Bingley) who will reside in Netherfield. Upon hearing about the man's fortune, there is much discussion within the household upon possibly marrying one of the 5 girls to him (eventually settling on Jane (the eldest)). The reason for the name of this chapter is that it marks the beginning of the book, but as well a possible beginning of a relationship between Jane and Mr. Bingley, as Mrs. Bennet urges Mr. Bennet to acquaint himself with Mr. Bingley as a means of establishing a good name/reputation (to spark a relationship between Jane and Mr. Bingley).

As a result of her family's visit, several events have taken place which affects the plot of the story. For example, Lydia questioned Mr. Bingley when he will host his next ball, Mrs. Bennett continues to embarrass herself, and Elizabeth continues to take care of Jane.

She first sees him reading so she pretends to be interested and absorbed in a book. She then asked Elizabeth to walk with her to grasp his attention, which works. Caroline then proceeds to ask Darcy to walk with them, but he refuses to give them their privacy, but he is happy to watch them. This Caroline's desperation to grasp Darcy's attention.

Each couple provides different stages ion a relationship, with various perspectives and obstacles. Hence, the chosen name of the title of this chapter.

While getting dressed, Mr. Collins takes it upon himself to mention to Elizabeth that she had not worry about her dress as Lady Catherine does not take these material things into consideration. Upon their arrival, they come to the realisation that Lady de Bourgh is quite snobby and prideful while Miss de Bourgh is sickly and pale. Lady Catherine goes on to criticise Elizabeth for her background, including the fact that she never had a governess, and demeans her family.

Ibrahim Abouzeid
Title: The Unexpected Engagement
Justification: Mr. Collins asks Elizabeth for marriage, and she politely declines his offer. The Bennet family was hoping that he would marry one of Lizzy's sisters, Mary, in specific. However, he proposes to the neighbours daughter, Charlotte, instead. Charlotte accepts knowing that he is a safe option for herself, and his wealth would provide a good lifestyle for herself. This surprises and infuriates Mrs. Bennet, as the family estate will go to someone outside of the family(Charlotte). Elizabeth is disappointed at her friend for not marrying out of love, but marrying out of the option being reliable and safe.

Primarely, Ms. Bennets shock and furiority towards the marriage between Charollete and Mr. Collins. This is relevant as she denies it being true, she also decided to scold Ms. Elizabeth for a week, be disrespectful towards the lucases for a month, and hardly forgives Charollete. Secondly, Jane doubts that Mr. Bingley is not planning on returning. Lastly, when Mr. Collins returns he does not recieve a positive welcome.

Later that chapter, Elizabeth meets Wickham in Meryton where he explains that he did not attend the ball because he was avoiding Darcy. She then takes Wickham to meet her parents. Jane receives a letter from Caroline Bingley explaining that Bingley and his sisters are all leaving for London during the winter and that she hopes her brother marries Darcy's sister Georgiana. Elizabeth claims that Caroline is just trying to break her and Bingley up to have a better relationship with Darcy. This saddens Jane, however, Elizabeth is able to convince her that Bingley still loves her and that this is all his sister's doing.

While she is humorously startled by the unexpected request, but is also flattered by the compliment, she automatically refuses the offer. Throughout the chapter, Mr. Collins perceives her refusal as courtesy of a typical English woman, who will have to refuse the first two or three times, and eventually give in to a proposal of marriage; while Elizabeth insisted on clarifying that this was not the case and that her refusal was indeed genuine and permanent, as she does not see how either of them could make each other happy. Mr.Collins remains in utter denial, refusing to believe that her "no", actually means no.

However, the main part of the chapter is the arrival of Mr. Darcy to the neighborhood, who greeted her plainly, as before. Remembering her sister, Elizabeth asks Mr. Darcy about her sister being in town, as a means of making him uncomfortable (due to their sudden departure).

As the characters discuss music Elizabeth is forced to perform on the piano and the significance of this performance is to show the different impressions about Elizabeth's talent. As Mr. Darcy stares at her she continues playing to show him that he does not intimidate her. Lizzy explains that she is not naturally talented on the piano and that she doesn't practice which means she can't improve. Finally it also helps the readers understand Lady Catherine's character as she makes remarks on Elizabeth's performance on the piano and gives her a word of advice.

On her usual path she unexpectedly meets Mr Darcy, waiting for her with a letter at hand. In this letter, Mr Darcy details the reasons for all his actions from the beginning of the book. He explains that Jane had reciprocated the same feelings the Mr Bingley had, which Elizabeth understands as she knows her Sister is an introvert and hadn't confessed any emotions to Bingley. Darcy also details his supposed wronging of Mr Wickham in a new light, painting Mr Wickham not as the honourable man the Elizabeth had seen him before, but rather as a greedy and reckless man who repeatedly generates debts beyond his means and Darcy even confesses of the personal effect Mr Wickham has had on Mr Darcy's family. Reading this letter gives Elizabeth, and by extension the reader, into a look beyond the prejudice and finally see Darcy's View.
