Question:What do you know or believe about the ways ELLs are taught such as strategies, approaches, or models?

Answer: I think ELLS do not get much one on one assistance from teachers. Teachers have a hard time being able to help ELLs as much as they need because of large class sizes. ELLs are just kind of expected to teach themselves and pick up what they can based on what the teacher is teaching the entire class.

Question: What do you know or believe about the ways ELLs are taught such as strategies, approaches, or models?

Answer: I know that there are a lot of strategies, approaches and models that teachers can incorporate into the classroom that are beneficial for both ELLs and students who speak only English. I do not know any specifics about what the strategies, approaches, or models are.

I thought it was so interesting that the student and one of my parents had such different views. Originally, before starting this program I would have had a similar answer to the student I asked. However, now I would agree with my parent. I do know different strategies, approaches, and models that are beneficial to both ELLs and non-ELLs.
