During teaching and learning a teacher should also use visuals to do demonstrations so  that the child can exercise his/her critical , analytical and literacy skills. Teaching a child in their home language also help in boosting the child's confidence. The child becomes more equipped and challenging even to the teacher and that makes the learning more exciting.

The idea is good , learner's would feel school as home as they will be more comfortable on asking questions, and replying on answers and even with understanding the questions yet I don't think it will work for the learner's because we don't only study on our locations, there's a time after grade 12 where student get to explore on different countries, in Collages, or universities with different learner's that speak different languages how will those learners that have been educated with thier mother's language communicate with others? We decided to extract all key terminology from the lesson plans, including glossaries from textbooks, in order to form resource packs. In this way, teachers were able to access material that together we developed for use in their lessons.

As the dual-medium team, we introduced a range of materials that disadvantaged schools do not currently have access to. We translated these materials into isiXhosa in order to form bilingual teaching materials.

Mathematics posed a tremendous challenge during this process. Learners find it very difficult to read English textbooks. The content and themes of mathematics and science textbooks are for the most part unfamiliar to them, the vocabulary strange, and new words are introduced at a very rapid pace.

We did not start from scratch in materials development. We translated learning area work schedules and key scientific and technical terms for wall posters. In workshops, we showed the teachers how to plan a bi- or unilingual lesson and develop appropriate materials. We taught teachers methods of choosing textbooks that have, among other things, a good balance of content and teaching methodology. In this process, we had to take into account the mindset of teachers and bolster their self-confidence, so that they would be able to develop teaching and learning support materials in our absence.

It's crucial to let the learner's practice in the classroom and make their own mistakes there so that they get comfortable and be able to try a bit by bit to speak and answer in the foreign language, yes we can code switch now and again but that shouldn't be something that we rely on because it's not giving justice to the learner's at all and as teachers maybe it should also begin with us than expecting miracles from the students because if we ourselves are not comfortable with English how do we expect our learner's to be?
