Archaeologists study the past to find out more about how early humans lived, their culture, tools, habits, etc. They study times such as the Paleolithic to the Neolithic Era, and more periods of time afterwards.
They analyze things like artifacts and fossils, which may tell about how they lived (tools, pottery, etc.) or what they looked like (skeletons other DNA samples). Scientists date the artifacts and compare them to other objects to get an idea of time periods between them. Comparing these times can show how the people have evolved and how they have improved over the ages.
These remnants from the past tell us about the people's survival, transportation, religion, achievements (fire, agriculture, domestication, etc.) inventions and much more.

They study the past because it helps to show people how we have evolved through the ages. They study from as early as the paleolithic era and all the way to the neolithic era. Archaeologists study the past by excavating the places they have found evidence that people lived there, and finding what the people left behind(i.e clothes, skeletons, tools, pottery, artifacts.) They can tell us how we developed, where we started out, how our civilization has grown and evolved, how we first started our technology and how it has changed over the course of many years.

Archaeologists study the past to learn about human past life. They study past life by digging up fossils and artifacts by dating them and seeing the difference between time periods. Archaeologists can tell us a lot about the past such as how different ages and different civilizations acted and what they used. Scientists use radioactive material left inside the object and compared other similar artifacts and fossils to see how old they are. Without Archaeologists we wouldn't know anything about the earths past or human life.
