Land acknowledgement is an act of reconciliation that involves making statement recognizing the traditional territory of the Indigenous people who called the land home before the arrival of settlers. 

The main purpose of Land acknowledgement from all of my studies and research is for individuals and for all government agencies to recognize the original owners of the land on which settlers now occupy  .
