Jordan will get more water through a pipline from a lake in Israel called the Sea of Galilee.

And in Southern Jordan, a desalination plant will be built on the shores of the Red Sea.

The salty leftovers (brine) from the process of desalination, will be transported through a massive pipeline and emptied into the Dead Sea to raise its level.

The freshwater will be used in the regions (Jordan and Palestine).

Solution of water with very high concentrations of salt.

Mixing different amounts and ratios of water from both the sources of water to figure out what will happen to it.

Because it will be located closer to the Sea of Galilee, which is part of the Red Sea that the water will be collected for desalination.

Its also close to the Dead Sea, where the remaining brine from the desalination process will be pumped out.

The plant is in Jordan, because as one fo the driest countries in the world, they have little to no access to freshwater, so they will have to resort to desalination.

Being close to the Dead Sea means less distance to transport the water.

It is where the water will be collected, so being close to the collection area makes it much more simple and time saving.

With the ongoing conflict in Israel and Palestine, Jordan might not be the closest to the Dead Sea but rather has the more stable government and there fore would be much easier to implement.

Also with Jordan being in the Middle East fresh water is hard to obtain and not enough for a country so countries around the Middle East like the UAE and Kuwait all resort to desalination.

The salty waste/leftovers after the desalination process which then the brine gets dumped to the Dead Sea

They mixed both Red Sea brine and Dead Sea water to find out if it were to happen what consequences to the chemistry and landscape of the water could happen and seeing what ratio of Brine to Dead Sea water is the most suitable.

Use Jordan's new Desalination Plant and obtain the leftover brine.

Then, dump them into the Dead Sea to raise the sea level and hopefully restoring it's normal size again

They tested what would happen if the leftover brine from the Red Sea was mixed with the water from the Dead Sea.

It's to see what the most suitable ratio of brine from the Red Sea to the water of the Dead Sea without any consequences.

The Red Sea is more like normal seawater, whereas the Dead Sea is richer in minerals, such at calcium, potassium and magnesium.

Having two seas with the dead sea having a high amount of Calcium and the Red Sea having a lot of sulfate they crystalize and form and white foggy look in the water.
