As it was mentioned, there will not be much growth if the implementation of 1:1 technology is not supported in all facets.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Often time for collaboration and sharing information with colleagues is limited in professional developments or meetings.  As noted in this chapter, I think it important to think outside the box when sharing information and learning.  A few ideas I really liked were the "Appy Hours" and "Mini-Ted Talks."  These are great opportunities to highlight important information, or expose colleagues to new technology and information.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I agree with Ellen, this chapter relates to ALL professional development.  As a whole, I think it is important to think outside the box with how we share information with staff and colleagues.  Making an ILC is a great way to expose colleagues to new technology, yet get them engaged in an innovative way.  More importantly, I liked the point about how we would never expect at-your-seat engagement for our classroom, so we should not expect the same for our professional development setting either.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Love the idea of taking the first 5-10 minutes of PLC or staff meeting to do a whip around and share something learned.  &quot;It promotes a higher level of sharing and encourages members of the team to seek out new learning techniques or things that interest them..&quot; Powerful way to, if done routinely, shift mindsets!!!</title>

         <title>I absolutely agree with Susan that some of these activities could be fun at the beginning of the school year, but I think we also need to be careful of getting too &quot;app-happy&quot; and taking the focus off of INSTRUCTION and how to integrate the two to elevate learning.  </title>

Often times parents may not understand why teachers are pulled out for PD, however I think education on why PD important for teachers, eduction and mobile devices will be greatly beneficial for parents and families.</div>]]></description>

I think these are not only beneficial for the adult learning, but for student learning as well.
