         <description><![CDATA[<p><strong>Mini Moot Court Presentations </strong></p><p>Welcome, LEG122L</p><p><br>This semester, we’re putting your legal argument and persuasion skills to the test with our Mini Moot Court Presentations. In your small groups, you’ll research, develop arguments, and present a mock oral argument based on a fictional case scenario. This exercise is designed to give you hands-on experience in legal reasoning, teamwork, and public speaking.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Purpose</strong></p><ul><li><p><strong>Critical Thinking:</strong> Apply legal principles and analysis to a complex, evolving scenario.</p></li><li><p><strong>Practical Skills:</strong> Learn to construct and present legal arguments both for and against a position.</p></li><li><p><strong>Collaboration:</strong> Build teamwork skills as you work together to plan, assign roles, and refine your arguments.</p></li></ul><p><br></p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>In groups of 8 choose one of the fictional case scenarios provided on the next board, and do the following: </p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Assign Roles</strong></p><ul><li><p><strong>Lead Counsel(s):</strong> Present the main arguments. Counsel must prepare arguments for the Applicant and arguments for the Respondent. </p></li><li><p><strong>Legal Researchers:</strong> To provide support with research of relevant legislation, common law and case law. May be 2 group members, each to provide support to each side</p></li><li><p>Presentations must be no more than 7 minutes (3 and a half minutes for each side).</p></li><li><p>There will be an award for Best Mini Moot Team and Best Speaker </p><p><br/></p></li></ul>]]></description>
