While I was recording, I happened to witness something miraculous. A man stood in front of a column of tanks in utter disgust after watching people get killed for using their rights of freedom of thought and expression, and the right to democracy. While I was watching this extraordinary man, I just kept thinking he was going to end up crushed. I felt I had to record the situation. And I did. And I'm honestly shocked he wasn't killed seeing as what was going on, but I'm glad he wasn't. He stood for everybody and all those people who were injured and even killed, even though he seemed to have no business doing so. He wasn't even a student. He was just an ordinary man who was done with the fighting. I believe "tank man" will forever make an impact on the world. The government was attacking innocent people, and it was causing so much destruction that I could not take it. I had to step in front of the tank. I knew that it might have killed me, but it was worth it. Everything started out fine at first, with the student protesters, but everything changed. They called for the officer to start coming to the protests, and they started attacking the innocent civilians. I was outraged, and when I saw the tank, it was like I had reached my limit. I knew I had to stop it somehow, so I walked in front of it. It tried to pass me, but I would not let it. This went on until my friends got me. I thought that my efforts hadn't worked because I was moved, but that wasn't the case. I became a symbol, and the picture of me in front of the tank was seen all over the world.
