some facts about fossils are that fossils some times takes billions of years to fossilize the fossils to harden into rock. fact 2 the only evidence that the megalodon existed is it's teeth because the bones are made out of cartilage the same thing that your ear and nose is made out of. fact 3 the the megalodon has more then 270 teeth and some of the teeth are 7 inches tall.fact 4 the dunkleosteus fossil is terrifying that scientists nicknamed the fossil the horrifying fish also it has no teeth the teeth are just the sharp plates on its face it also was for protection.fact 5 a fossil is a dead organism that was millions of years ago and then fossilized by the minerals from the dirt or water to make it into stone or a fossil that is hollow and full of crystals inside.fact 6 also most fossils are found in sedimentary rock and you can find fossils in the bottom of the sea for example the megalodon tooth is found underwater also you can find fossils in ice for example the wooly mammoth it was extinct after the ice age.

3 facts I learned about fossils is that first you can find fossils in many different places under the water, in ice, or maybe inside rocks and mountains. Fact #1 = Fossils can tell you a lot of informations and how it was that time what is the creature? That Paleontologist researches. Fact #2 = Fossils are in different shape some are print of a foot step of a dinosaur and many other creature and animals. Some are maybe big and large or maybe some are little tiny bones. Fact #3 = From the Mesozoic Era the creatures and animals which don't exist anymore in our life but they might be transformed in to some other creatures like turtle there maybe was big and huge turtle back that time now in our life there a lot of turtles and lot kind of them.

Fossils have been found on every continent in the world. The largest fossil ever discovered is a petrified tree found in Thailand. The tree was more than 237 feet (72 meters) long, and was probably much taller when it was still living! Scientists have found fossils of dinosaurs with feathers. The oldest known fossils, in fact, are cyanobacteria from Archaean rocks of western Australia, dated 3.5 billion years old. Megalosaurus is believed to be the first dinosaur ever described scientifically. Preserved remains become fossils if they reach an age of about 10,000 years. Fossil fuels include coal, petroleum, natural gas, oil shales, bitumens, tar sands, and heavy oils. Lucy, a 3.2 million year old Australopithecus afarensis named after the Beatles' song "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds", is perhaps the most famous fossil in the world. Oculudentavis khangura is the smallest fossil. There are five types of fossils Body Fossils, Molecular Fossils, Trace, Fossils, Carbon Fossils, and Pseudofossils. By far the most common fossil, based on the number of times it occurs in collections, is the snail Turritella.
