Good morning, everyone. The passage that I chose is number 41 and 42 in 9월 모의고사. It is about what FOMO and JOMO are; FOMO is the fear of missing out, and JOMO the joy of missing out. Since I’ve become very interested in social psychology lately, these two interesting syndromes made me research them more. Today, I’d like to introduce you to how FOMO syndrome affects today’s real estate market.
Have you ever hear about panic buying? Panic buying occurs when consumers unusually buy large amounts of product in anticipation of a high price increase, or a shortage. Since the outbreak of COVID-19, there have been many panic buying events worldwide. As house prices and stock prices have risen at record levels all over the world, many young generations in Korea, especially people in their 20s and 30s, bought apartments or stocks by pulling everything together, which is called 영끌, or by taking out too many loans to invest in the market, so-called 빚투. The anxiety about falling behind others like FOMO is one of the main factors influencing panic buying. As a growing number of loans are taken out by individuals, the unrelenting surge in household debt has become the biggest downside risk to the Korean economy. Due to the economic instability, many people who have been overbuying real estate and stocks due to anxiety are now causing damage not only to themselves but to the entire economy.
Likewise, FOMO syndrome not only has a detrimental effect on our physical and mental health but also influences the property market, and finally harms the entire economy. We sometimes think everyone makes money but me and others might have rewarding experiences that we are not missing out on. Like the solutions mentioned in the passage, however, it will be necessary for us to accept JOMO in our lives, which is to be satisfied with the present and to be aware that we can miss out on anything at any time. Let’s enjoy missing out. Thank you for listening.

[2617 임지현]
지문: 자이스토리 G10
지문 내용 요약: Black friday로 인한 영향, Green friday가 무엇인지

Introduction (3)
-Hello everyone, I’m Jihyun. The passage that I chose is G10 in 자이스토리
It is about what ‘Green friday’ are. I was usually interested in
environmental issues, so I looked into the environmental pollution caused
by Black Friday and the effects that Greed Friday can have.

Body (8)
-Have you ever bought something cheap on Black Friday? Black Friday offers consumers a big discount, allowing consumers to consume even things they don't need.
Carbon emissions from these consumption amounts to 400.000 tons and electronic waste amounts to 50 million tons. To solve this problem, Green Friday has emerged. Green Friday pursues responsible and sustainable consumption. I’m going to talk about Ikea and Ecolf. IKEA held a "Buyback Friday" for its members, which pays 50% of the furniture purchase price if they resell unused IKEA furniture. Also, Sustainable fashion brand Ecolef did not participate in Black Friday despite significant additional income. These reduced waste and carbon emissions.

Conclusion (4)
-This shift from Black Friday to Green Friday will reduce environmental pollution and enable sustainable consumption. As the passage says, even if only a fraction of the population makes this change, it will be of great significance to the environment. Let's all try little by little to solve environmental problems. Thank you for listening.

I've chosen to talk about the passage N21 of 자이스토리. It explains how "yellow journalism" started in the late 19C. Yellow journalism refers to the press that reports stimulating articles. They often are based on absurd rumors rather than fact. It has been criticized but still exists. Let’s look at some examples of yellow journalism of the present day.

Fake news about scientific fact is a big headache today. Since COVID-19 outbreak, we have faced numerous fake news about the virus. For example, one of them had a tile saying "Cure for Coronavirus Has Been Found". Tempting, right? But if you click it, poor content was waiting inside. It would say drinking alcohol or even bleach can help curing the disease. That wasn't the end. False information about vaccine came out as articles when vaccination started. Panicked by the epidemic, many people read those articles, believed, and followed them. What do we do in this ocean of fake news? To counteract them, the government and scientists conducted fact check actively. They tried to provide accurate information about coronavirus and prevent further happening caused by panic and false one. We have to listen to them.

As Internet civilization developed, spread of fake news is easier and faster than ever before. When we believe them without any reflection, we feed yellow journalism. It is important for us to check if a news is based on fact and pursue journalism ethics. Thank you for listening.

The passage that l chose is D16 in 자이스토리. It’s an article that says people can easily fall into “confirmation bias“. Have you ever thought about confirmation bias? The concept of confirmation bias is that you only see what you want to see, and I really interested in this topic. So I’m going to tell about relationship between confirmation bias and marketing.

Do you know the fact that “confirmation bias“ can be useful tool in marketing? When you want to eat shrimp chips, You are likely to go to the market. In the market, there has various shrimp chips, and I think you're likely to choose 새우깡. The reason of that reasoning is that 새우깡 is the most familiar shrimp chips for you. 새우깡 is very famous chips, but, still, 새우깡 company advertise and market it. The reason why they keep advertising products that we think don’t need to promote is to form a confirmation bias (about 새우깡 is the best of all), by instilling familiarity. This can make us buy products continuously by mistaking them for products we know well.

In this way, confirmation bias doesn’t just increase group polarization, but use to marketing techniques. I think it’s important to grasp the essence of something rather than just thinking it is bad. Just like this case, thanks to confirmation bias, advertisers can advertise more easily now. Thank you for listening!

This Writing is about why solids deliver sound better than liquid. The reason I chose this writing is because ordinarily I was curious about the reason why the sound felt louder when I tapped with my finger on the desk. I'm going to read this, I wanted to know more about the principle of solid transmission, so I looked into it.
Because of The reason why the difference in sound speed occurs is because difference in the number of atoms and molecules. If particles stick together like solids, the sound can be transmitted faster. If the number of particles per unit volume is small like air, the speed of sound decreases. And additionally, Temperature also affects the sound speed. The higher the temperature, movement of the particles becomes active and the speed of sound increases.
For this reason, A solid transmits sound waves faster than a liquid. I'd like to highlight that don't hit the desk hard when your friend sleeps with shes ears on it. May be a problem with your friend's ears.
Thank you all for your attendance today.

I have been interested in immunity because of the corona. So I wanted to investigate more about this topic.

The immune system is a very complex operation that regulates the body's response to external threats and internal disorders. The immune system has the ability to learn. So when it identifies an external invader, it makes a specific response element to a specific antigen and remembers the element to counter the antigen.
Briefly, when the immune system senses a virus, the body is mobilized to produce special cells, which are carried by the blood and attacked virus. Usually, The immune system of a healthy person wins and heals quickly. Then, the immune system remembers the particular cell and any following infection by the same kind of parasite is beaten off so quickly that we don't notice it. However, people with weak immunity can get sick often because this immune system does not work well. So we should get rid of unhealthy habits and have a habit of raising immunity. Regular exercise, healthy food intake, and sufficient sleep can increase immunity.

If you have high immunity, you can easily pass even if you get sick. We need to increase our immunity because the corona virus hasn't completely disappeared yet, and the influenza will soon spread. The habits mentioned above are easy ways to practice in everyday life, so I hope you practice them and keep your health. Thank you for listening.

I'm garam. The passage that I chose is number 2 of unit F in 자이스토리. It is about double- sidedness of medical technology development. When I read this passage, I was interested in the sentence 'medical services are still not well distributed'. because at that time distribution of covid-19 vaccines was issue. So today I'd like to introduce you about distribution of covid-19 vaccines.

Have you heard about the 80-20 rule? It means that the top 20% take 80% of the wealth. This applies to the medical field as well. So-called a gap of 90 to 10. While 90% of the world is at risk of contracting infectious diseases, more than 90% of the drugs are supplied to only 10% of countries. In 2009, The swine flu vaccine was all monopolized by rich countries. To prevent this situation, several countries propelled international vaccine joint projects named COVAX. Their goal was to vaccinate 20 percent of the population participating countries. But the reality was different from that. 90% of the vaccines were sold to the US, UK, and Japan. and as a result, other countries were unable to get vaccinated due to insufficient vaccines.
Mutation called omicron has occurred in Africa, where Vaccination rates are low. The situation had worsened because of that.

As medical technology develops, this inequity distribution will get worse. Therefore, we should attention to negative aspects not only look positive aspects and try to solve them.
Thank you for listening !

The passage that I choose is number 01 in 수능특강. It is about why interpreting scientific theory is important. I had read the book 'A Double Helix', and the content soon came to mind when I look the passage. So, I decide to read the book once again and to consider about interpreting theory.

[Body-9]
Do you heard about the process of discovering a double helix? The process also undergone interpreting. At first, they took a picture of DNA. However, of course, the two-dimensional photograph did not clearly show the three-dimensional structure. All they got was a picture of circle with some lines.
But they knew that was not all. They applied their previous hypothesis and a well-known theory. Finally, they concluded structure of DNA is the double helix. The fact has become one of the most important scientific discoveries of the 20th century.

[Conclusion-4]
As such, interpretation through theory is a very important factor in scientific history. Rather than accepting the information given to us as it is, I suggest we should think actively about the information and create more meaningful information. It may be a little different from applying theory to scientific information, but it will contribute to the growth of yourself and society. Thank you for listening my presentation.

My main topic for today's talk is the weak point of food ingredient labeling. If a food contains several different kinds of sweeteners, they can be listed separately. So, consumers decide to buy unhealthy food without seeing.

Not only this trick, however, but there are more surprising facts. First, do you hear that products don't have dye and preservative? In this case, products contain 'monosodium glutamate (MSG)' with a high probability. MSG is not considered dye or preservative, but it can be harmful. Secondly, we were tricked by calorific notation. If food contains less than 5kcal, it can be notated 0kcal. But, it isn't actually 0kcal. So, if you eat too much, you may intake excessive calories.

I'd like to highlight that strong dependence on food ingredient labeling is dangerous. Thank you for listening.

I'm going to talk about positive thinking
today.

Health expert and human rights activist Widad Akrawi said, "If you are positive, you'll see opportunities instead of obstades." Have you ever thought of a positive way of thinking?
First, avoid using negative language.
If you forgive negative thoughts and repeat negative words in your mind, it will affect your way of doing things and have negative consequences. So instead of saying like, "I can't do it," Iet's do our best so that we can say positive things like "I can do it" and "I'll try." Second, remember that sometimes it's okay to make the wrong choice. Everyone makes a choice that makes mistakes or regrets.
Even if you make a mistake, it doesn't
mean everything will end. The passage I choose is the number 11 in 수능특강 It explains that differences in personal experience can lead to differences in interpretation of symbolic expressions. The passage was interesting but disappointing becuse content focused only on personal communication. let's expand coverage of the the concept to the cultural domain.

human brains naturally use a symbolic techniques-metaphor- in the cognitive process of concepts. abstract and difficult target concepts are easily understand. by a way of connecting that those to ‘a familiar concept derived from their experience’

but people have cultural experiences as well as personal experiences. it's a important. If some metaphor is based on cultural experience, interpretation differences are come between cultures and cultures, not individuals. for exemple, In Oriental culture area, understanding of emotional concept through internal organs is common. 간 떨어지다 means surprised and 배알이 꼴리다;창자가 뒤틀리다 means piqued. this metaphor based on inferential experience from oriental medicine. So it is hard to understanding in Occident. becuse they can not connect a ‘liver drops’ with ‘surprised’

We lives in a culture. some Metaphor may be completely personal, some are universal, at least in their cultures. but also that is only in their culture so is special. these specificity may be a long-standing task for Not only personal communication, but also translation between languages. Unfortunately, Many e-waste is abandoned incorrectly and Most don’t know how it is abandoned. Therefore The most serious problem is e-waste that isn’t abandoned properly. First, it have harmful chemicals. Burning makes harmful gases and these worsen Global warming and climate change. We are also exposed to the chemicals like heavy metal. Second is pollution of ocean. A lot of waste amount included e-waste is abandoned in ocean. E-waste doesn’t disappear naturally so it can damage ocean life and destroy ecosysems. In fact, A million ocean life died by eating e-waste.
In concluson, E- waste affect both the environment and us. So we shoule use it as long as possible. This passage is about the relationship between sports and violence. Because of my desired career path is sports, So I have been research this issue. Today I want to introduce you to the impact of sports on violence.

[Body]-(8)
How do you think sports affect violence? I think sports make people violent. You may have heard that the environment in which children grow up affects their personality. As such, the surrounding environment greatly influences a person's personality. In sports, sometimes extreme situations arise due to the desire to win or passion. This will happen more often, especially if you enjoy combative sports. If such situations are repeated, people's violence will increase. That's why I think sports make people violent.

[Conclution]-(4)
But that doesn't mean that all sportsmen are violent. The general view is that playing sports can promote violence. In other words, as the passage suggests, I believe that intense sports promote aggression in people.
