The desert can be very hot, humid, and dry. There are four different types of desert biomes which include semiarid, coastal, hot and dry, and cold deserts. Deserts typically have very little to no rain, but if they get rain it's only about under 15 cm a year. Because there is little precipitation vegetation is not common in deserts. Although there are low growing plants. Since the desert biome is very dry the plants and animals have adapted to surviving off of small amounts of water. The temperature in the desert can be approximately 113 degrees Fahrenheit during the day and at night can be as low as 32 degrees Fahrenheit.

The climate in the desert biome can be extremely hot and dry. Temperature in a hot and dry desert ranges from 20 to 25 degrees Celsius. The climates in a hot and dry desert can develop from high-pressure zones in which cold air penetrates. Deserts have two specific seasons which are summer and winter. Summer time in the desert is when the temperature ranges between 35-40 degrees Celsius. Winter in the desert is when the temperature ranges between 20-30 degrees Celsius

The altitude of the desert biome is ranging from about 3000-5000ft. above sea level.

Most of the topography in the desert biome has been formed over time due to wind. The structures ina desert may include sand dunes, sand seas, barren stone plateaus, gravel plains, dry valleys, and salt flats. The topography of this biome may affect the isolation by the altitude of the sun and biome. Since the desert biome is closer to the equator it is more humid and very hot. The closer to the equator the more direct sunlight the desert is getting.

1) The deathstalker Scorpion has adapted to the deserts hot and dry climate by burrowing underground to keep cool. This scorpion has a very strong exoskeleton that can prevent it from being crushed or harmed by other animals. The Deathstalker has a very flexible diet that allows them to survive off of as little as 2 insects a year. They don't really drink water, but they do get fluids from their prey.
2) The Sand Viper Snake has adapted by having the ability to blend in with the sand. The Sand Viper may burrow undergound to stay cool during the day in the hot climate. They have horn like structures that can protect their eyes from being damaged. They can save water by only releasing small amounts of urine and the water in their system is stored for whenever they need it.

Global warming can be a threat to deserts because it increases the chance of drought. It can also eventually cause wildfires due to lack of hydration and an extreme increase in temperature. Global warming can dry up water holes which can be very harmful to plants and animals since water is such a major need for them. Another threat to the desert biome is the deposit of oil, gas, and nuclear waste as this action can be lethal to plants and animals. Humans aslo play a threatening role to the desert biome when they use off road vehicles as they can destroy an animals habitat and plants.
