         <title>The 13 English Colonies</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>A. The major cities in the colonies had major commercial centers which had connected the colonies to the rest of the world. Then Britain applied mercantilism polices to the colonies parliament passed the Navigation Acts, but they were not strictly enforced.<br>B. Since America has lot of different backgrounds they were not divided by religion and ethnic groups, but they were separated because the government and the society were dominated by the rich merchant's and land owners.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>A. Due to the seven year French and Indian war Britain did not have a lot of money left, Parliament tax the colonist even more.<br>B. The colonist thought it was unfair that they were being tax without their permission.<br>C. The colonist protested in the Boston Massacre by throwing stones and snowballs at the soldiers resulting in the death of 5 colonist.<br>D. In the Boston Tea Party they protested the tax on tea by throwing creates of tea into the harbor.<br>E. They angry colonist met in a Continental congress and planned to set up the Continental Army and declare our independence from Britain.</div>]]></description>

         <title>The American Revolution</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>A. The Declaration of Independence was inspired by the enlightenment thinker John Locke it included his idea that the people can over through the government if needed and popular sovereignty. It addressed that a King or government can't take away the natural rights of the people.&nbsp;<br>B. The British had many advantages in the war because they have more money, a huge fleet, and a trained military.<br>C. The colonist had many disadvantages in the war because they had less money and less trained soldiers.<br>D. The French join the war when the saw the colonies win the Battle of Saratoga.<br>E. The British surrender when they were blockaded by the French fleet in the Chesapeake Bay. This resulted in the Colonies getting their independence from Britain through the signing of the Treaty of Paris.</div>]]></description>

         <title>A New Constitution</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>A. The Articles of Confederation were to weak to rule the United states because the had no way of enforcing the laws and it was not very effective.<br>B. The Constitution had reflected many of the ideas in the enlightenment, for example, the government had three branches Legislative, Executive, and the Judaical branch from the ideas of Montesquieu. The social contract of the agreement between the government and the people like Hobbes believed. Hobbes also believed in the state of nature that people are naturally greedy and selfish that is why we have limited rights. The ideas of the Bill of Right came from John Locke who believe people were born with natural rights that should be protected by the government.</div>]]></description>
