After 20 years of being dedicated to painting, Thiry rediscovered her artwork through sculpture. After 2004, she began working on clay to create bronze sculptures. 
Her work seems to be heavily focused on expression and spontaniety, not worrying on delivering a smooth, accurate version of reality; but to show movement and emotion through the way she handles the clay.

I find this work really interesting. It seems very sketchy and not very detailed, but it still comes together as a whole nicely. I really like the comic-y vibes it gives & the feeling of movement. All in all, the painting evokes images of greek deities.
Description:
In the upper half of the painting there is a naked woman curled up in what seems to be a cloud flooding the room. Behind her, a black woman seems to be pulling a blanket off of her in a very dramatic, movement - filled manner. To the right of the women, there is a large grey vase with a bush of yellow flowers. At the left, there is a cream wall covered with a brown curtain. In the foreground, a middle-aged man is sitting on a slanted cream wall in front of the vase. His dark clothing contrasts with the generally light colors that are prevalent in the composition. There is a small black dog beside him. They are both with their back to the viewer, facing the woman instead. At the left of the dog, there is a small wooden table with a bottle and what seems to be some fruit on it. The floor is green, as well as the background. Well blended with the green background, a small chandelier can be dsistinguished.
Formal Analysis:
The painting has an overall use of light colors that blend with each other smoothly. Even the dark forms seem to blend in with the lightness. The colors are predominantly neutral, so it can be said that they've been mixed before going into the canvas. 
The composition isn't very realistic - this is caused mostly by a lack of detail, of tonal difference in the figure, and the use of thick, messy brushstrockes. Overall, it looks like something out of a storyboard. This signals that this piece was very spontaneus, without much attention to detail.
The composition is pretty neatly arranged in thirds. In the right third, there is the vase and the man. In the center, the women. And, in the left, the table and the pillar/curtain.  The main focus of the painting is the woman laying down; the rest of the composition is arranged around her. Cezanne made sure that the focus would be in her with different methods: firstly, her placement right around the center of the piece. Then, the triangle made with the man and the table, which has her at the peak. Then, the stark whiteness of the cloud she is laying in; which quite clearly brings in the attention of the viewer. And finally, the dramatic movement of the woman uncovering her - the only thing that seems to be moving in the composition. This all creates and emphasis on the woman laying down.  The mood of the piece is overall very light and silly.

I'm not sure if it's cultural, or merely a fault of a government that doesn't consider havig a neat city something important; but it is commonplace to see litter thrown on the sidewalk. Plastic bags, polyeutharane food containers, napkins and soda cans-sometimes squished into flat discs when cars pass over them. In lower-income residential areas, piles of trashbags pile up in front of homes for days, no one coming to pick it up. I cropped out bottles and cans on photoshop, as well as tinting and cutting out a shape out of the carton. I arranged them in a way that none of the background peeked through. I then typed trash repeatedly in different fonts and sizes to make trash be LITERALLY everywhere on the image, tuned down the opacity of the words, and distorted the lines slightly. photography and typography - take several pictures of models. Ask them for a mood or idea before taking the pictures, and tell them to express the opposite. Then, write over the picture with paint the original idea of the model. Meant to represent the discordances between what we say and we really mean / expression through both speech and body language.
