In Sacramento, legislation is geared towards public school, so it is true that we aren't often called upon to advocate at the legislative level for private schools precisely because they don't receive state funding. However, we advocate, as Lorraine said, for long sequences of well-articulated language and cultural education for all of California children no matter what school they attend. Even when we testify on legislation affecting state funding, we talk in our testimony about the needs of "California's children/students" not "California's public school students." We can't address your unique issues without your voice.
