En esta zona, podemos encontrar ecosistemas más pequeños constituidos por manglares y acantilados rocosos. 
Fauna: Presenta más de 763 especies como: pulpo, pescados, cangrejo camarón, calamares, langostas entre otros.
Frutos: “Es una región de gran productividad cubre casi la totalidad de las exportaciones agrícolas, principalmente banano, café y caco” (García, Parra & Mena, 2014, p192)

Fauna: Las zonas altas de la cordillera de los Andes, que se encuentran ubicados entre los 3.500 y 4.500 m.s.n.m. son ideales  para especies como el cóndor, llamas, vicuñas, osos, tapires, pumas y gran variedad de aves.
Flora:  La región interandina alberga una gran cantidad de plantas gramíneas, frailejones, líquenes, musgos y flores multicolor.
En su producción agrícola se destacan las papas, habas, chochos, fréjol y habas.

Flora: Esta zona es rica en aguacate, la pimienta negra y la roja, el cacao, la canela, el higo, la berenjena, el jengibre, la caña de azúcar, el camote, la vainilla, el plátano y banano típicos de la selva, la yuca, la naranjilla, el tabaco y la caña.

Fauna: Existen animales representativos como las tortugas, lobos marinos y piqueros de patas azules además de caracoles, abejas, hormigas endémicas, langostas espinosas, erizos, algunas especies de tiburones, peces iguanas y aves.
Flora:  Entre la flora del lugar, es decir las plantas endémicas de las Islas Galápagos, encontramos: Cactáceas, el cactus de lava, el algodón de Darwin , los arbustos de Robinsoniana miconia, la margarita endémica que crece en zonas de lava o cenizas, el tomate de Galápagos, entre otros.
