What parts of your rehearsal did you do really well and why do you think they went well?

I think my improvisation skills were strong because, since it was our first practice, none of the actors were focused on memorizing lines yet. Instead, I focused on bringing the character to life by expressing their emotions and creating an engaging atmosphere that helped tell the story to the audience.

Was there a moment when you felt just like your character? What helped you feel that way?

I just felt like the character "Alan" when Sam revealed that she is an agent from Supernatural Confectionary Division of the kingdom of Snow because I didn't know her hidden identity until our first rehearsal

How did the way you moved or spoke help the audience understand your character better?

I have effectively moved my hands to express my characters feelings by using movements such as searching around by using my right hand as a binocular.

What new things did you learn about acting or working behind the scenes in this play?

I learned that always facing the audience is important because it allows them to see my facial expressions and body language more clearly. Even when I’m interacting with other characters, I need to be mindful of my positioning so the audience doesn’t miss key emotions. I also realized that using gestures and movement effectively can make a scene feel more natural and believable, helping bring the character to life.

Can you talk about a time when someone gave you advice during practice? How did you use that advice to get better?

During rehearsal, Ms. Sam gave me some helpful feedback. She said I was expressing my character’s emotions well, but I was too focused on Alan’s feelings rather than making sure the audience could see my face. This made me realize that while emotions are important, the audience also needs to see my expressions clearly to fully understand the performance. In the next rehearsal, I will work on balancing both—expressing Alan’s emotions while also keeping my face visible to the audience. This way, my performance will feel more engaging and natural.

Can you remember a time when you used your voice or movements really well to make a scene better?

I used a telescope and my water bottle to show Alan’s worry, mimicking how someone might look around when lost in the forest. This movement made the scene feel more natural. I also adjusted my tone of voice to sound more anxious, helping to make Alan’s emotions clearer to the audience.

One change you made after receiving advice and how it improved your performance:
After receiving feedback, I worked on better expressing my character's emotions. In this rehearsal, I challenged myself to incorporate different props into my scenes, such as a water bottle and a telescope. I also added small physical actions, like tying and untying my shoelaces, to reflect my character's thought process and emotions. This made my performance feel more dynamic and natural, allowing the audience to connect more with my character's internal struggles.

Skills or tricks you learned that helped you play your character better:
I learned how to use props creatively in various environments, which helped me enhance the storytelling. For example, in scenes 1, 4, and 6, I used my telescope to identify distant objects, such as a robbery plan or the edge of the forest. This added layers to my character’s role, showing their focus and attention to detail while also contributing to the overall atmosphere of each scene.

What was the best piece of advice you received? How did you use it in your performance?

Luke advised me to be more aware of my surroundings backstage because I accidentally made a loud noise that the audience could hear. I took his advice and made sure to move more carefully to avoid distracting the audience.

What were the best parts of your performance, and what could have been improved?

One of the strongest aspects of my performance was my ability to effectively portray a lost hiker. I used actions like looking around with a telescope, tying my shoelaces, and shivering to convey the character’s situation. However, there is always room for improvement, and I could work on making my movements even more natural and expressive.
