Fanon was born on Martinique island in 1925. At the time of this birth, the island was under French colonial rule.

Frantz's writing put the issues of his day into words. His work centered around the themes of language, sexuality, gender, race and racism, religion, social formation, and time.

Fanon’s Black Skin, White Masks was one of the first literary works to interpret the experience of race in a racialized society from the biased point of view of a black person.

In 1953, Fanon moved to Algeria, which marked a turning point in his thought. While continuing his work with themes of anti-colonial and anti-racism struggle, he began to write deep and meaningful. The Wretched of the Earth is the most distinct and prime exhibition of his shift. This piece of work was characterized by Stuart Hall as the "Bible of decolonization". With the publication of The Wretched of the Earth coming after his mindset shift, Fanon was able to express more openly about the meaning and motivation of revolutionary struggle.

Frantz Fanon passed away in 1961, at the age of 36.

Wen Yiduo was a post-colonial Chinese author, paintist and poet, publishing all types of arts in the name of a democratic Chinese state during the early 1900s.

The reforming of the country after the Qing dynasty's fall was one of China's most chaotic and vulnerable periods, yet Wen was never dissuaded from urging the nation to piece itself together again. Wen released a suite of poems, 七子之歌 (The Song of Seven Children), each poem symbolizing each child as each territory of China seized by European countries (Macau, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Weihaiwei, Kowloon, Lushun and Guangzhou) . The most popular excerpt was the region of Macau, which was colonized by Portugal in 1557 and was not returned until December of 1999 (442 years).

Democratic supporters all over China were moved by Wen's work and fought even harder to preserve the state. Alas, Wen was shot dead in 1946 by the Guomintang nationalist party in attempt to suppress his political activism. He was 47 years old.

However, Portugal returning Macau back to the motherland allowed China to feel whole again, with all its territories finally relinquished to their rightful owner. Wen went through his whole life projecting to unify the country after so many centuries of conquest, colonization, exploitation and separation. Though he did not live to see it, his legacy has been fulfilled, and China has been reunited with all seven children for almost 22 years.
