         <title>Swimming</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Like many of the sports on this list swimming can be participated in both competitively and recreationally.  The water can take away many of the normal impacts and strains on the body and allow for more natural movement.  There is also a robust rating system for athletes with all sorts of disabilities to find a challenge in competition.  Swimming can also be extremely therapeutic, providing strength and flexibility that cannot be found in ground activities.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Dance by its nature is about creative movement.  While there is technical training and adaptations can be found in many formal programs, the idea of dance is limitless.  The beauty of dance is it provides a creative outlet, fitness, coordination, and self expression.  You can become involved in a formal program, perform, or put on your favorite song and move with the music.  Dance can provide a social connection or be a personal endeavor.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The only thing holding someone back from taking a hike would be a technical trail.  You can hike for many hours or many days.  Going for a hike is a great way to connect with nature and get to know a little more about yourself.  There are all sorts of trails and many hiking aids out there from walking poles to off road chairs.  Pick a trail and go explore.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Fishing is a great way to get outdoors and enjoy activity alone or with friends and family.  Most communities have ADA compliant piers and a pontoon boat will allow an individual the opportunity to use their normal wheel chair.  There is equipment for nearly every disability.  There is no fitness or age requirement.  Fishing is truly and activity that is accessible to all ages and nearly all disabilities.</div>]]></description>

Basketball can be recreational or competitive, it can be social or individual.  Basketball will help develop and maintain hand eye coordination, agility, balance, and cardiovascular fitness.  There are basketball hoops in nearly every town which makes it almost universally accessible and if you are not able to get to court you work on ball handling on any semi hard surface.</div>]]></description>

An athlete can work on strengthening a weakness or maximizing&nbsp;a strength.  Most of all weight training will provide lifelong benefits by increasing metabolism, limiting the risks of osteoporosis, and providing balance and resilience to the body.  A weight training program can be adjusted at any time to increase challenge or just maintain current levels of activity and ability.</div>]]></description>

There are tons of bike options on the market from fully custom offroad bikes to electric road bikes. You can ride a tandem bike or a tricycle to accommodate&nbsp;sight or balance challenges.  No matter what you want to ride or where you want to ride there is an option to get you riding.</div>]]></description>
