The 5th grade students in Pawling had the wonderful experience of seeing wolves at the North Salem Wolf Conservation center via zoom. We got to see many things we would have never seen in our backyard or at school. The wolf conservation worker, Dana, was very kind and answered our questions. She showed us how the wolves eat. It is very interesting to watch. We also got to see what “Ambassador Wolves” are. The Ambassador wolves are Alawa, Zephyr, and Nikai. Their jobs are to interact with people, since the other wolves are going to be released into the wild one day. There were different types of wolves like red wolves, and Mexican grey wolves. We also got to learn about how the conservation center is helping to restore wolf populations around the country. We got to learn about the pups, and how they bring the wolves into their natural habitat.
