The Bride would recover from the attack a swear vengeance against her attackers. Before I go into what I saw specifically in the movie, I would like to cover the stylistic approaches from director and the style of the director in general. Tarantino when making his films usually have similar themes. For instance, a theme that is in a good portion of the films he’s produced is revenge. The  main character typically goes out to seek revenge on the ones who wronged them so. Tarantino also seems to follow a style of being extremely violent in these movies. They always have very violent and sometimes bloody scenes. In the scene when the Bride fought against the crazy 88s, the music ranged from RZA’s Cane/White lightning to Nobody But Me by The Human Beinz. Throughout the movie there was cheesy music and sfx to make it seem older. The music choices throughout were very much Asian centric/Japanese and it’s very understandable considering the story of the movie, where the main conflict takes place in Japan.

I noticed that there was a lot of close up shots throughout the movie, especially on Uma Thurman’s (The Bride) body and a lot of close ups on eyes. A recurring thought and statement that the main antagonist Bill had was that he liked blue eyes so there was a lot of close ups regarding that. Or it could be related to the fact the The Bride was shot in the head so the shots are eye level and up. Some other shots are wide shots that show the beauty of a samurai showdown. For instance, there was point where Uma was fighting the crazy 88s and all you could see was silhouettes The shots really help carry the vibe of The Bride’s “samurai spirit” and the homage to the classic samurai image.

However, one critique is that chopped off arms don’t spray blood everywhere which happened a lot.
