These 2 stories are very similar in many ways. One of those ways are they both talk about suns. In the story, "How the Fifth Sun Came to Be", they talked about how the sun rose from the east and sets in the west, but the other story, "10 Suns", they talk about how we got only one sun. "10 suns' is about gods not paying much attention to their children, so they get bored and they think, why don't we walk the sky together? So they did and they scorched the earth until the emperor called to the gods to save the earth. The gods answer, but their children do not answer them. So they call upon the god of winds to save them. One by one, the god of winds shoots down the 10 Suns and the emperor sends a messenger to take one of the arrows from his quiver so he doesn't shoot down 1 sun, so they don't freeze to death. So he only kills 9 suns and that leaves one sun, our sun, that we still see today. While the story "How the Fifth Sun Came to Be", is about 5 suns that are ruled by different gods. The first sun, ruled by the Jaguar Sun, was crawling with jaguars all over the planet. But the jaguars devoured all the humans, so they brought an end to the first sun. On to the second sun, it was ruled by the Wind Sun, but the boss god wanted to rule again so they kicked the Wind God off of his throne. Their conflict was so bad, it caused hurricanes to destroy the second world. The third sun, the Rain Sun, was destroyed by Quetzalcoatl, the boss god, because he was jealous of his successful rule on the sun. So he made it rain fire all over the poor sun, leaving only blackness in their wake. Finally, Quetzalcoatl chose a new god to become the water sun, and it was successful for a little bit. Until the sky fell and made Hurricane Irma all over again with all the flooding, and there goes the fourth world. So Quetzalcoatl took it upon himself to make the fifth sun, but it was too dark in an eternal night. Without the warmth and light, all the life would go hungry and starve to death. SO the gods called an important meeting in the city of gods, they came upon the most humble god, Nanahuatl, to make himself the fifth sun and once they saw him, they knew he would become the fifth sun. And Quetzalcoatl said " It will rise from the east, and yet it diN And yet a faint moon followed behind it. This concludes the comparison of 10 suns and 5th sun. And WOW this is SUPER LONG!

After I have read 10 Suns and 5th Suns I have seen a very big difference in the two stories. First off 10 Suns was based off of Chinese mythology, while 5th Suns was based off of Aztec mythology, also the plot lines are different

Ten Suns: The God of the Skys (I guess) and his wives have exactly 10 children. They kind of force one of them to walk across the sky, until one day all of the ten sons or suns decide to walk across the sky, which causes the world's biggest heatstroke. The God of the Sky gets some guy with an arrow to shoot down his sons and turn them into crows, but they decide to let one of their sons be the sun and so they take the guy's arrows.

5th Suns: Fives gods called: The Jaguar God, The Rain God, The Water God, and the Wind Sun ruled their own worlds until Tezcatlipoca, the Jaguar God sees that all the jaguars he has created ate all of the people. This brings an end to the first world and Quetzalcoatl take over, him becoming the next sun.Tezcatlipoca gets jelly and wants to rule again, so he kicks Quetzalcoatl off the throne and Tezcatlipoca & Quetzalcoatl fight causing giant hurricanes to destroy the second world.Quetzalcoatl returns and selects The Rain God to take over the next world. Quetzalcoatl gets jelly and sends a rain of tacos, just kidding those don't exist yet in this story. A rain of fire to BURN EVERYTHING IN HIS PATH.

A long time ago there were 4 worlds and if one was built it was destroyed. There was also 2 gods Tezcatlipoca and Quetzalcoatl both fighting to become the ruling some of each world. The conflict of the two gods brought a hurricane that destroyed the second world. Quetzalcoatl selected a new god to become the third sun the Rain Sun. Animals, plants, and humans began to go to earth but one day Quetzalcoatl got so jealous of the rain god because of his successful rule so he sent a rain of fire that poured over everything. Blazing fireballs burned the houses and animals and burnt the plants to a black charcoal colored ash. Quetzalcoatl then chose a new god to become the Water Son ruler of the 4 worlds. Things get well until the sky fell onto the earth bringing floods sweeping away the humanlife and ending the 4th world. After all the gods were picked non of them became The sun so the gods were called to a meeting in sacred Teotihuacan and Quetzalcoatl was the first to arrive. Then the surrounded by a huge stone pyramid burned The Divine Hearth. For a long time the spirits chatted and spoke until they reached a agreement. They pointed at Nanhuatl the most humble of the gods. They said Nanhuatl you must take care of the sky and the earth. You must sacerfice yourself to become the sun. So Nanhuatl closed his eyes braced himself and leaped into the blazing fire the fire sputtered high up to the sky. But then another spirit that also yearned to be the sun jumped into the fire with Nanhuatl. When both spirits were gone the gods sat down to wait for Nanhuatl`s appearance in the sky. They knew he would become the fifth sun. They looked to the north, east and west but the sky remained dark as night. Quetzalcoatl said it will rise from the east and the sky will become crimson and gold. The spectacle was so glourious that the gods believed the sun was rising from everywhere. As dawn defined itself they saw the new sun rising from the east blinded by its brilliance. It's rays reached very far as it and as it moved its path painting mountains, rivers and valleys, in its gold light. Then the gods noticed the second spirit he was now a faint moon following the majestic sun.

I thing How the 5th Suns was a great story it is a myth and is very interesting.
