#1: I think it somewhat depends on the age of students you are working with, but I think a major point to stress to all ages is that no matter what you post or delete on the Internet, it is always out there.
#2: I think it's important to make it engaging. So, whether students are creating somesort of profile or they work on determining if sources are reliable or not. Don't just have students listen to you lecture about content.
#3: A digital footprint would be sort of like your tattoo of things you have posted onto the internet, regardless good or bad or deleted or not. It's important to maintain because again what you put on the internet is always out there.
#4: It's important for parents because they should want their students to maintain a positive digital footprint, and they can help their students navigate the internet.
#5: Students can know who is following their profiles and accept requests from people they know. Also, they can change their settings so people who aren't following them or aren't friends can't view their information.
#6: Tough question... I think it comes down to different people wanting to blame different people. I.E.: some thing the school should be to blame/ should do the disciplining and others think it should be left up to the parents.
#7: If students are acting appropriately and safely on the Internet, they reflects good community involvement. If there are many incidents where students are not, then that potentially makes the community look bad.

1. When teaching students about Digital Citizenship, it is important to teach students to be safe, and to create an appropriate digital face. Students at the youngest age need to be reminded that what they post will be there forever, therefore, they need to be taught to post appropriate and necessary things while using technology.
2. When teaching about Digital Citizenship, students need to be involved in the learning process. Students can investigate different examples related to Digital Citizenship and answer questions that you have generated for them, however it is important they are actively involved in the learning process in order for them to understand it.
3. A digital footprint is all that an individual has posted on the internet in their lifetime. It is important to maintain a positive digital footprint, as it is the first impression people get from you, and is something that will follow you throughout your lifetime.
4. It is important for parents to have knowledge on their student's' digital footprints, as they will be the ones monitoring their student's internet access for many years. Parents need to be educated on digital footprints, as they need to be a positive example for their student.
5. To keep themselves safe in their social media environment, students can ensure safety settings are on, only accept requests from individuals they know, and practice safe navigating based upon what they have learned from teachers and parents.
6. Cyberbullying can be hard to discipline, as posts can be deleted or misread, which can cause problems for students. If a post has been deleted or has been posted outside of school hours, many policies do not consider cyberbullying a school issue.
7. Student education about Digital Citizenship can be good for the community because if students are good digital citizens, other students will mimic that and become good citizens as well, creating a ripple effect of good digital citizens throughout the community.

1. Teaching Digital Citizenship to students can be difficult, but the most important thing to teach to students about digital citizenship is that everybody can see what they post. It will always be out there, so getting students to understand that if they post it on the internet then it will always be there no matter what.
2. There are many ways to teach students about digital citizenship. Having students be actively learning about it would be the most important. Have students physically act out digital citizenship, for example putting on a "play" showing what digital citizenship looks like or having them answer questions or playing games that help get them thinking about it.
3. A digital footprint is something that you post online yourself. It is important to maintain a digital footprint because it will always be out there, so future employers could potentially see things you have posted in the past that you'd rather them not see.
4. it is important for parents to understand digital footprints for their children because it will help them keep track of what their kids are posting, but also help them make their children understand how digital footprints could potentially be harmful for their future.
5. If students wish to stay safe on social media they must be aware of what they post, who their friends are, and only visit safe and appropriate sites based on what they have learned from parents and teachers. They should friend people who are their friends (not just people they "know" because that could potentially lead to cyberbullying).
6. Cyberbullying is hard to discipline because of many reasons. One obvious reason is that posts can be deleted. Another reason could be that children love to tease each other and they often don't understand that teasing on the internet can be hurtful because the tone of their voice is not heard. Also, if cyberbullying is happening outside of school hours then schools cannot do much.
7. Education about Digital Citizenship can be good because it can help keep children safe from inappropriate things they can view on the internet. It will also help give a positive outlook on the community. There are many benefits to digital citizenship education for children.

1. I think that the most important thing to teach students when teaching digital citizenship is that when students post online it is permanent and can be seen by then entire world. I think that it is important for students to understand the power of the technology and the internet.
2. One way I think about teaching digital citizenship is giving them real life scenarios and acting them out in the safety of the classroom. These can be simple scenarios like what personal information is safe to post and giving students two options and then talking about why one is correct and the other not.
3. A digital footprint is the mark that someone leaves online. It is everything you post and all the comments you make. It is the image you create of yourself online that others can see.
4. It is important for parents to know of their children's digital footprints so they can know that there child is safe and accessing developmentally appropriate content.
5. I think that the biggest way for students to stay safe online is for them not to post personal information online. It can be very easy for children to access places online that is not appropriate or safe and begin talking to people even though they have never met in person.
6. Cyberbulling can be hard to discipline because it can be hard for schools and parents to know where the boundary is for online privacy for children. If it didn't happen at school it can be hard for the school to take action and parent don't always know what their children are doing online know know if they are being bullied or bulling someone else.
7. Student education about digital citizenship can be good for the community because a student's community is not longer their classroom or town but the entire world with the web. When students learn to be safe and respectful online they can carry that over to real life when talking to people face-to-face (even though we hope they are already doing this). I think that the idea of posts online being permanent can help students better understand that what they say to each other in person can effect each other just as permanently.

1. I think it's important to teach about privacy and safety when teaching about digital citizenship.
2. I found a game online that's purpose was to teach about digital citizenship. It went through several scenarios where the students had to determine if it was safe or not to put certain information on the web.
3. A digital footprint is the information that someone can search online for you. It's important, especially as a professional or someone who wants to be a professional to keep a positive footprint because you can be searchable. It's important to keep in mind what you are publicizing because you don't know who might look you up. A student, a parent or a principal.
4. It's important for parents to be aware of their child's digital footprint because they won't always know or think about what is safe.
5. When students make a social media account they should be aware of what information is publicly accessible.
6. Cyberbullying is hard to discipline because it is not as easily observed. It is also difficult to know where the lines are between teasing and having fun and bullying.
7. Digital Citzenship is important for everyone to learn about, in order for us to keep safe, especially in the light of identify theft.

1. When it comes to teaching students about digital citizenship, it is important to stress safety and responsibility. They need to be reminded that anything they post will be there forever and that people can use information you post to gain knowledge about you.

2. Teaching students about digital citizenship needs to be hands on, students need to see just how serious it is to handle online tools appropriately. Students should be given real life scenarios to discuss about what they did right or wrong and why so that they can learn from those scenarios.

3. A digital footprint is what is left behind by you, that means any pictures you posted, tweets, discussion posts, or reviews on a movie/person, etc.

4. It is important for parents to know their students digital footprint so that they can make sure their child is being smart and safe and so that the parents can guide students down the right path if they aren't.

5. Students can keep themselves safe on social media accounts/environments by knowing who is following or you or has access to your information, and not posting sensitive information about yourself.

6. Cyberbullying is hard to discipline because posts can be deleted or misinterpreted but it also can be hard to decipher who exactly posted in. It is so easy to make fake accounts that isn't who they say they are.

7. If there is student education about digital citizenship then it will reflect positively on the community but will also help others within that community how do be a good digital citizen.

One way to teach digital citizenship would be through having the students explore, and doing real life scenarios.
3. A digital footprint the everything on the internet that you post, or that is posted about you. It's important to maintain a positive one because people will look at that for jobs, or anything else, and it can either reflect in a good way, or bad way.
4. It's important for parents to have knowledge about their student's digital footprint because they should know that their kids are being safe online.
5. They can recognize that what they post is always going to be online, and they can know what is going to be accessible to the public.
6. Cyberbullying isn't easy to discipline because you can never be sure who actually posts the mean things. It can trace back to a student who didn't actually do the bullying.
7. It could create a safe and decent community for everyone to be in.

1. I think its most important to teach students about privacy for digital citizenship. They need to know how to protect themselves.
2. A teacher could go through steps on safe digital citizenship, and show examples of ways social media has gone wrong for those who weren't safe about it.
3. A digital footprint is what's left out there in the web universe of what you've looked at and posted. It's important to maintain a positive digital footprint because employers could dig up just about anything online, especially if you didn't know it was there and didn't make it private.
4. Parents should be aware of what their children are posting online. Especially because they could be cyber attacked, stalked, or bullied if their digital footprint isn't erased or well managed.
5. Students can keep all social media private and be careful what they post. Students need to learn that they don't need to post every single thing online, especially their whereabouts.
6. Cyberbullying can be done on fake accounts and from people pretending to be someone else. A student could be being by a friend and not even know it.
7. It can protect a community's image as well as keep a community safer if students can be more careful about what they're posting online.

1. I think it is important to teach students about digital citizenship for safety reasons and so they are responsible with their internet usage.
2. To teach digital citizenship, teachers have many options. There are steps they could teach the students or they could give examples. Anything to show what they should do vs what they shouldn't do.
3. A digital footprint is an imprint of your internet use. So it is anything you have posted on any form of social media. Anything you may have posted on a website. It is important to maintain a positive footprint for things such as job interviews because they can go and search you and if they don't like what they see, they won't hire you. Also, same situation for applying to colleges!
4. It is important for parents to know about their students' digital footprint so that they know they are being smart and safe. There are many scary things out in the world and a parent needs to make sure that their child is protected. They also need to make sure they are using their resources responsibly.
5. To help keep students safe, they can make sure all of their pages are on private. They can also think twice before they post something or make a comment. Always keep in mind who your audience is!
6. Cyberbullying is difficult to discipline for many reasons. One is that people can use fake accounts to bully someone which makes it hard to prove who did it. Another reason is that it is hard for a teacher to step in if it did not happen at school. That may cross a personal boundary of a student.
7. Student education about digital citizenship is important for a community because it will help keep everyone a little more safe.

1. I think online safety is the most important to teach to students. Social media is very prevalent today, and it is important that students know not to post personal information online, and also that people are not always who they say they are online so they need to be careful who they are talking to.

2. One way that comes to my mind about teaching digital citizenship is to do scenarios, where students have to decide good or bad decisions.

4. I think its important to have conversations with children/students about digital footprints, so that they are more knowledge able about what they post.

5. I think it's important that children and parents are open with each other, and have access to their accounts.
