As we learned about coaching language, how to have tricky conversations, and thought through mentoring scenarios, I realized that a high quality mentor is one that has been grounded in some of the research around being a support to new teachers. That has given a lot of though to intentional work with others. I also learned that self-care is a major factor in teacher burnout.
