Have you ever read a book and seen that some of the pictures included are unclear or coarse? In this class, I learned that the term for this issue is dithering. The dithering process makes the images look coarse because they were converted to images with limited colour depth. This process may happen when the devices could not contain images with high colour depth. Hence, the devices convert the images to images with low colour depth. This video explains the concept and process of dithering on an image. This video also states the application of dithering in daily lives.
