I use two tools built right into a Google Doc for writing. One is voice typing. The students really like it because they can get their ideas down faster than they can type. (Though, some need a lot more editing help afterwards than others). I like it when doing many things but especially a REED. I have voice typing open while flipping through the CA and other data. I just read the data statements aloud as I flip through. It gets most of the information down and then I go back and edit.
I also use Tools-Research. This helps students research and then also remember to accurately cite because they can just click on the website they use and hit 'cite' and it will do it for them. In the update to Explore this feature did go away but because of feedback they brought back something similar though I haven't gotten to use it yet. I don't know how I taught research before this tool was available.
Kim Watson

Such a great site to share! Thanks. I just started using this one this year as well. The passages are fairly short without a lot of questions, but it is good for a quick check in.
