Why do we protest when we see no change

Why do we give all our efforts to see no gain

Why do we strive to be better to be brought back down

Why are jim crow laws still around

Why do we allow ourselves to be so vain

When all they do is laugh at our pain

Why will we never be equal 

seems to me like another sequel

Why do we have to ask why

When all this time has passed us by

Why are obvious wrongs not seen

Why are there things hidden in between

Why do people do the things they do

Why is it so many but still so few

Why do we protest when there is no change

Why do we give all our efforts to see no gain
