A Strange Woman in the Rain(based on a true story)

When I was a middle school student, I was walking home without an umbrella while it was raining cats and dogs. I forgot to bring an umbrella even though my mom warned me that it would rain a lot in the afternoon. However, it was too late. I decided to go home without an umbrella.

When I was half way home, I took a wrong turn and started my journey down a dark road that I had never taken before. I didn’t notice at the time that I was going away from home because I was deeply thinking about the elephant in the room. It was a real pain in the neck. A few minutes later, I spotted a woman with a long hair staring at me.

Due to the heavy rain, I was not able to recognize her face at a first glance. However, I felt that she was approaching me slowly, and I was scared to see her face right before me. I couldn’t ask for help and I passed out. I still don’t know who she is. How time flies! That was 20 years ago, and I want to figure out who she was.

I watched musicals, and when I felt under the weather, I went to the National Gallery with my mom. Sometimes it rained cats and dogs, but usually the weather was good. On a sunny day, we went to Hyde Park and Notting Hill. I think we pigged out everyday.

Then one day something bad happened. (But don’t worry. I’m still alive.) At night, my mom and I took the bus to go to the Big Van. It was some day as usual. As always, I arrived home at 10:30 PM. When I was going to lie on My bed, I felt something’s wrong. I was looking around to see what was there, I found it. It was a cockroach. It crept from the bookshelf. And then, It flew on my deck. Perhaps My mentality had already fainted at that time. I locked the door and made a call to my dad. As I tried to catch it, it ran away from me.

“Dad!! Cockroach in my room!”

“Wow~ That's amazing. Break a leg!”

Oh my god… I decided I had to bite the bullet and got some hot water. Fortunately, The cockroach haven't moved. I quickly poured water. I almost got confused... Then I texted my dad that I had killed a cockroach. Suddenly, I heard the door opening and my dad came out. My family was at home!!! My dad felt my intense eyes, and said to me.

"Wow, I Cut the mustard~ Please catch the cockroach next time!"

Once upon a time, there was one girl called Irene and her older brother called John. Only the two of them lived together. Irene was kind and smart. John, her brother was always arriving home from work late with a long face. She felt alone and just wanted to stay with her brother.

One day in the morning, they had breakfast together before they went to work.

“Can you give me some money?” Irene said unexpectedly to John.

“Again? Why?” said John.

“Just tell me yes or no, please” Irene said.

“How much do you want? 10-dollars?” he said.

She thought a minute and asked.

“How much do you earn in a day?”

He felt something was weird, but he just answered.

“70 dollars in a day. Why?”

“Hmm.. Can you give me 30-dollars?” she said.

He could not understand why his sister needed money so often.

“I gave you 20-dollars twice, last Monday and Sunday. Today is Wednesday. Why do you often need money?” he asked with some anger.

Just then, he saw the clock and recognized that it was time to go to work.

“Oh god. Time flies!” he said.

John slipped out of the house without saying bye to his sister.

At the end of the day, John felt sorry to Irene. He thought that he had spoken to her unnecessarily harshly. And he thought she might have needed money.

Arriving home, he went to Irene’s room. She was sleeping. John woke Irene up. He handed her 30-dollars.

“I’m sorry for shouting this morning. Forgive me. And use this money wisely.” he said.

Irene took cash from his hand. And then, she brought a box and opened it. He couldn't make head nor tail of what she was doing.

In the box, there was 40-dollars that he gave her last week. So, she had 70-dollars including 30-dollars that John gave her.

“I have 70-dollars. And you work for 70-dollars a day.” Irene said.

“So.. You wanna tell me you’re rich, right?” he said.

“No, John.. I just want to ask you.” she said.

“Ask what?” he asked.

“Can I buy your day? Just a day. I will give you 70-dollars. Let’s play together!” she said.

After hearing this, his mind went blank. Playing with her was a piece of cake. But he had been tired, so he didn’t play with her.

Actually, I started to study really hard, when I WAS 2nd grade in middle school. Unfortunately, Coid19 broke out last year. At first, I had difficulty studying in the first semester.
