Launching her practice in Trinidad and Tobago in 2010, Dr. Boodhoo was the first in the region to provide advanced care for heart rhythm abnormalities. She overcame significant challenges including a deficit of qualified allied professionals, but expanded a practice that measurably improved health and well-being of affected patients. In 2017, she performed the first atrial fibrillation procedure on the island nation at the Advanced Cardiovascular Institute.

Since 2012, Dr. Boodhoo has also successfully implemented pacemaker implant services at facilities such as St Augustine Private Hospitals and the San Fernando Teaching Hospital. Active in her professional community, Dr. Lana Boodhoo is a longstanding member of the Heart Rhythm Society and the Caribbean Cardiac Society.
