<title>1)FOCUS THE LEARNING    INTRODUCTION   I love questions. They help us understand the world around us, and they help us as readers. When we take time to ask questions as we read, we think more deeply and make more connections to things we already know. I am going to read Officer Buckle and Gloria by Peggy Rathmann. As I read , I will stop now and then to share my questions and give you a chance to share your questions with a partner.</title>

<title>2) Interactive Read Aloud Model and guide Practice &amp;nbsp;Read page 1 &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;I wonder why Officer Buckle needs so many rules for safety. There are really a lot of rules up here on his bulletin board. &amp;nbsp;I think it would be hard to remember that many rules. And, look! It says rule #77 is ,&quot;Never stand on a swivel chair. It rolled right out from under his feet. I wonder why he would make up a rule and then break his own rule. &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; Read page 2 &amp;nbsp;I wonder why the kids are snoring and shooting paper airplanes. Why do you think they are not listening to him? &amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;</title>
