The adjective that I chose is faithful because when she is watching over her mom she says ¨everything will be fine.¨ This is an example of faithful because she does not just give up on her mom when she is sick she helps her out washes her off and also wipes her face off with the rag.

Adjective 3 that i have chosen is helpful. A quote that i found from the book to discribe that she is helpful is,"With fresh water and food, we could stay under the willow until he regained his strength, head back to the city." This shows that she id helpful because she looks for food and fresh water so that her and her grandpa can survive.

During tough times, children may need to grow up faster because their parents are sick and they need to help out as much as they can. On page 47 its states, "Mrs. William Cook junior and Miss Matilda Cook are here for tea with Ms. Ogilvie" I think this shows theme because it is showing that she has to grow up a little bit and she has to attend events like formal teas. Another qoute i found is on page 68 " I'm here, mother I whispered. be still" I think this is another form of theme because she is caring for her mother and seeing her mother like that makes her upset. This relates to having kids grow up because she has to help with her mom since she is sick and she has to do stuff like be a cook and when she saw her mother sick and steped up and did what needed to be done.
