Interaction Design (IxD) is the practice of designing interactive digital and physical products by focusing on the behavior of people and helping them achieve their goals.

Information architecture (IA) focuses on layout, navigation and where the visitors can find the information. Whereas IxD focuses on the the user's actions and thus triggers a reaction that will help the user to complete their task, helping them to find out how to get the information.

Visual design pays more attention to how the website looks like rather than whether or not the website works or not.

While IxD focuses on the behavior of the users using the product, product design targets the entire area of researching, concepts and making sure the product works.

Instagram
Instagram is a photo-sharing platform that allows users to share their photos in public or private.
I usually use Instagram on my phone to post photos/videos, view and like other people's feed and photos, direct message other accounts and view Stories.

I find it to be a source of entertainment as I can see what my friends are up to these days, as well as view the personal photos of celebrities and videos that interest me. I like posting my own photos as it acts like a platform to share with my friends about my life and it also acts like a sketchbook for myself as I can store all my memories as photos/videos in this platform.

I like this app as compared to other competitors, such as Snapchat, as Instagram reaches out to more people such as friends and celebrities. It is also easier to find accounts/photos/videos that you are interested in on Instagram while Snapchat only has limited news/videos that might only interest me for a short period of time. Photos are also stored in Instagram whereas Snapchat only provides a 24 hour time period of viewing the photo/video/texts sent by your friends.

On Instagram, you cannot post photos and videos, apply filters, reply or view direct messages or view Stories on the desktop website. However, posting photos are now available on the mobile website.

1. What is user testing? Explain it.

User testing is the evaluation of a product or service done by real users through means of testing, in which they are given a task to complete and will usually be observed to identify any usability problems. This will help identify issues early and find out how easy it is to use your product or service.

2. Elaborate on one type of user testing with examples.

Paper prototype testing:

Sketches of the design or interface of the prototype will be used instead of the usual screen interface which makes it cost effective and no coding knowledge is required. One example would be an app prototype where the screens of the app would be sketched and the screens will change based on what the user presses by transitioning to the next screen, which is the next paper.

State your reference.

http://www.experienceux.co.uk/faqs/what-is-usability-testing/
https://www.usability.gov/how-to-and-tools/methods/usability-testing.html
https://usabilitygeek.com/an-introduction-to-website-usability-testing/
https://usabilitygeek.com/paper-prototyping-as-a-usability-testing-technique/
