the compromise was passed of 1850 california entered as a free state - slave trade was outlawed in washington- mexico was organized into to parts utah and new mexico- paid texas 10 million dollars to give some land - made it a crime in states to hold slaves or hide them.

It became law on may 30 1854 The Kansas-Nebraska act repealed the missouri copromise . It also produced a violent uprising known as “Bleeding Kansas,” as proslavery and antislavery activists flooded into the territories to sway the vote.
