S.A.F Framework that can be applied in the Rational Model.
Stands for Sustainability, Acceptability and Feasibility.

1 Identify the Mission Statement through the SWOT analysis. and from there we can used the SAF framework

2 Suitability - Will it work for the company in relation to our strategic choice. Mendelow Model and BCG matrix can be applied while questioning all the strategic ideas. He also mentioned about having an idea that is impossible to replicate to have a better sustainability.

3 Acceptability - Whether the strategic ideas can be acceptable to the company stakeholder ( internal + external). Mendelow priority model can again be used as a tool to rationalized the idea. Shareholder will need to be convinced in the maximization of wealth. Few traditional investment appraisal technique can be applied such as the NPV technique which show the discount rate and cash-flow for the choice. He did mentioned also traditional investment technique can be further used in few options ( to abandon the idea, to wait or to follow on )

4 Feasible - He discussed certain questions like can we afford it? Can we do it in time? Do we have the skills to to do it and is it legal?

5 More art than science - all technique can be applied as a tool to be used in understanding the strategic choice of the organization, however one person view and vision will not be the same with another person. Hence the ability to demonstrate and answering in a relevant way depends on the situation given.
