Like the Soviet Union was operating in Poland, the "enemies" of the USSR in Lithuania and Latvia were sent to the Gulag and imposing strict measures to eliminate any form of resisting aggression. </p>]]></description>

Denmark and Norway were controlled under the administration of a German Reich Commissar, with a more "tamed" Germany in letting Danish and Norwegians join in power as a start. </p>]]></description>

Moreover, France's fort border, the Maginot Line, completely fell due to Germany's surprise Belgium crossing. </p>]]></description>

Germany lost 2,500 airmen, while launching a campaign dubbed the "Blitz" in order to lead to a Britain surrender and remove the victory morale. Realizing his major defeat, Hitler decided to focus on the Soviets. (Starting a costly 2 front war!)</p>]]></description>

Due to Stalin's refusal to back down, this ordeal held out for about 2 and half years altering the lives of Soviets to a deathly extent. Costing the lives of 1.5 million civilians from all disease, the cold, bombing, and a twisted mental state caused by how life became for them (i.e. mass cannibalism).</p>]]></description>

The public dealt with riots, starvation, and a saved city in ruins. Germany being the "dominant top dog" planning its Blitzkrieg  strategy to sweep up a victory not achievable in sight. </p>]]></description>

This left a cut of essential supplies both for livelihood and for fighting, with these captured men dying Russian Prison camps (I.e the Gulag, etc). This began as the start of pushing the Nazis back as it was becoming cornered by the Allied powers. Germany no longer can proceed eastward.  </p>]]></description>

Burma dealing with different foreign powers made for a brutal outcome. Britain dealt with 16,500 casualties, the Japanese lost 53,000, with thousands more American soldiers. </p>]]></description>

The advance of the Nazis blocked the needed supply route from being across through land, forcing supplies or be brought to the Allies through the air. This diversion gave the Allied powers significant loss, before a takeover after 8 months of fighting.</p>]]></description>

The Allied sank through 615 aircraft, 29 ships, and 7,100<em> casualties (not the same as the Japanese death loss). </em>This proved the "island hopping" strategy to work, bringing a new framework of the war. </p>]]></description>

Now, the invasion of Germany can begin to corner them.</p><p><strong>Effect:</strong> The Vichy regime of France were exiled to Germany, as part of fully liberating France from any authoritarian government. Authorities in Belgium were also re-established with the absence of King Leopold III. While over in Luxembourg, they and Belgium signed to the Benelux Agreement to integrate them more into Western Europe.          <description><![CDATA[<p><strong>1944 December</strong></p><p>The last German Offensive took place across the borders of France, Belgium and Luxembourg in means of going for the last shot.</p><p><strong>Effect: </strong>Germany lost all morale, man-power, and offensive power and unconditionally lost. Because of this last "all or for nothing" shot, the Germans lost 120,000 soldiers while the Allies lost 75,000. Still a huge toll regardless leading to the final stretch of Nazi loss. </p>]]></description>

The Leadership of the Reich passed to Admiral Karl Dönitz. Other European nations joyfully took this knowledge in without a second thought. This remarks as V-E Day (Victory in Europe)</p><p><strong>Effect: </strong>Widespread celebrations took place as all of Allied Europe and beyond took it on the streets to salute the perished and living. The world's powers flipped and the lack of security was felt by all since no one could foresee the rebuilding and stabilization efforts. However, Japan continued to fight along the pacific as they took, overlooked their demise coming at all corners from being pushed back to their homeland (the same cornering Germany faced until they were defeated).</p>]]></description>

Because of this desperation, Japan used kamikaze (suicide pilots) to wreck U.S. navy ships knowing that they explode and die.  420,000 Japanese casualties and 23313 U.S. troops and sailor casualties combines. This Battle involved killing 22,000 Japanese soldiers and sailors and 6,800 killed for the U.S. in the process. Taking place over 36 days, the capture of IwoJima symbolized victory as seen in the Marines flag raising. </p>]]></description>

This bloody battle came at a strategic importance, as likewise to the bases and bombing planning in IwoJima, this was also to be used as landing stripes for the atomic bombs. The U.S.'s military presence still lingered, changing how the civilians felt about the military and the west as a whole, causing tensions. </p>]]></description>

The Japanese weren't left with its values and military rights, as new constitutions drafted enforcing Japan to no longer have rights as an offensive, but a defense force in military while they lost all their overseas territories. Many things from its economy, international relations, and culture attitude in its society towards the U.S. and within themselves slowly shifted. </p>]]></description>
