Despite the current limitations, you still put effort into every session. Through your lively discussions, I always felt engaged in the lessons and found myself still taking them seriously. The passion you put into your lessons also helped me appreciate learning French more and it’s encouraged me to go beyond just learning the language to also familiarizing myself with the culture/history. Again, I sincerely thank you for these past 8 sessions and for all the advice you’ve given to us along the way. ^_^

Again, thank you so much Sir Eric for making the process of learning french something to look forward to every Monday. It was also really interesting to learn the cultural aspect of the language and some historical facts about french. Hopefully we can use what we’ve learned to snag a french hottie as you often suggest 😂

Despite our classes being online and bonded through Chris Hemsworth 😌, I am beyond grateful to have learned so much more than the language for I’ve also learned about a world far greater than my own. Now, we won’t be going to french bibliothèques thinking it would be la librarie, and going to la boulangerie thinking it would be la patisserie. But kidding aside, we’ve truly learned a lot and enjoyed a lot! This course has motivated me to keep learning despite the circumstances.

Encore une fois, merci beaucoup! We hope to see you soon :)

Thank you so much, Sir Eric, for being a teacher who made the lessons easy-to-understand, but enjoyable. It was wonderful how, aside from the language itself, you taught us about the importance of the culture surrounding the language.

I hope that we can have French lessons with you again, given the chance. You are approachable and fun, informative and engaging. I am happy to be able to have called you my French teacher. Learning French opened my eyes to a whole different language and culture from English, Filipino, and Japanese.

In learning the French language, I knew I had a long way to go. Despite the fears of committing mistake, you were patient and understanding in guiding us throughout the course. You allayed our fears by teaching us that we can only truly learn if we are open to making mistakes.

Beyond the language, we learned the importance of cultural sensitivity as an integral part in our interactions with different people.

I will forever treasure all the learnings you imparted to us.

Having you as our French teacher has not only left us with linguistic knowledge but a great deal of respect and understanding on the culture of the French, among other cultural/social ideas beyond what we’re born with. I, as well as the others, have always been entertained with your humorous and feisty take on social norms, the people you’ve met along the way that have a significance in our subject matter, and of course— hotties. Thank you once again for everything— both the STC French semester and for the past 8 sessions!

This course really went beyond what I expected of a typical class. Besides learning about the basics of the language itself, I also found myself getting so intrigued by French culture and wanting to learn more about the world beyond the Filipino bubble.

And this is of course thanks to you who asked us to question societal norms, entertained us with your chats and rants, and made Monday mornings something to look forward to!

I have long wanted to learn another language, especially French because I always wanted to go to France and immerse myself in the culture. I thank you for giving us the chance to learn the language. You have inspired me to learn more and become more as a person and as an aspiring French philosophy scholar. I will always remember what you have taught us, French-wise and life-wise.
