Meme of 2023

On media, people tend to behave in ways you normally wouldn't do in person, whether it's with memes or taking videos of someone else that's embarrassing themselves or making fun of others. It's considered a social norm now, and some of the videos I've watched are funny - but others, I don't support/think it was an ideal thing that should have been posted.

Toronto marijuana arrests reveal ‘startling’ racial divide

As we're all aware, marijuana became legal in Canada in the year of 2018 - it's still a deviant thing to a lot of people but not by law anymore. And unfortunately, it's even more of a deviant thing in some regions. I don't see it as a deviant thing, because how I view it, it helps for a lot of different mental issues. It's just unfortunate that some people get arrested from some police even though it's been legalized since 2018. I see it being deviant pending who's hands its in, and who's using it. But for the most part, I don't see it being criminal, but more so of a deviant thing as most people still frown upon it.

Law and Deviance

In some ways, Law can be deviance with how a lot of police and judges tend to bat an eye with certain laws or certain people that got caught simply because it's something that they can do and with having the power that they do, it's able to be done. A lot of lawyers also get away with deviant things simply because they have the power too. Not only that, but they rely a lot on their connections with other lawyers and discuss things privately to get things to go their way, and not always others.

School and Deviance

In some schools, they do things without parents/guardians permissions and that's not criminal, but very deviant of them to do so. For example; in a South African article, it discusses the role of the school in the educational process and predisposition of juveniles to delinquency, as well as the needy for identifying and treating juvenile offenders in the school setting. That's an extreme deviance but not criminal as it's obvious that the different behavioural difficulties are considered a priority there, but their government and chiefs don't see it as a criminal thing. They expect the social workers and teachers to work together to help with the educational part of all of this - and it's all falling onto the teachers faults if nothing gets done towards the behavioural and learning aspects of all this.

The Link Between Video Games and Deviant Behavior

Because of the modern technology and modern video games out there in the world that is easily reachable at the tips of all of our fingertips; the video game creators have allowed an upbringing of 'sort of life' into these video games and deviant behaviour in kids. Playing video games at an early life can cause a lot of behavioural and deviant acts in children from ages 10 to 18. More so with how it affects their education and their sleep schedules. It attends to arouse aggressive behaviours and how they act towards one another, but how they also treat their parents. It's not criminal, but more of the deviant part of life and reality that is today with everything being so digital. Doesn't help that everything is online for gaming now.
