Dr. Richard Thaler; Nobel Prize in Economics (2017) for his work in Behavioral Economics

Dr. Thaler studied and applied "Nudge Theory" where an economy can "nudge" a person in a particular direction by strategically placing products that are easy for the consumer. This will promote better decision making and "push" a consumer to make a choice. If you want a population to eat healthy, banning nonhealthy goods will not work. Make more nutritious foods easier to purchase.

Dr. Thaler states that humans are irrational beings and the market cannot rely on consumers to make rational decisions. To help consumers make those types of decisions, better choices in the market are needed.
