The region's climate is mostly between a hot-summer Mediterranean climate and a cold semi-arid climate. Summer temperatures average 22°C (71° F) with highs of 30°C (86° F). The higher altitudes have a colder climate, so bring layers when exploring the mountains. Snowfall is occasional, with the record being 8 days in 1941, so don't worry about bringing your snow boots if you visit in winter.
