Good costuming not only looks good but enables viewers to make judgements about characters very quickly. Doctors wear suits to look professional and to seem skillfull/ qualified. Facts and experts are jazzed up by becoming talking heads on food packaging or cartoon superheroes. David gulespy wears a superman suit during the introduction of the film to be known as the sugar man. He is given the name "the crusader" because he is fighting for change.superheroes fight for justice and truth. This makes us feel more connected to the movie as we can relate what they are wearing to our lives. Dr Ken Sikaris is wearing a vampire outfit because that relates to his profession, pathology. Vampires are related to blood. Sharon The dietitians tend to wear bright colours to seem right shade of yellow can lift your spirits and evoke friendliness. During the course of the film, Damon goes from wearing bright colourful clothes to eventually wear dull, dark colours.

when Damon goes to his nutritionist AKA the Celtic food queen at 29 mins and 11 seconds into the film she shows him a "simple diagram" that shows how sugar can give you a short high burst of energy but then shortly after, a low lethargic stage where you are craving more sugar. The nutritionist states that during this crash stress hormones such as adrenalin are released into the body. She also states that these highs and lows and the release of adrenaline can lead to anxiety and panic attacks. While the fluctuations in sugar levels in the brain can cause you to have "wild moods swings"

Daniel- during dr Sievenpipers interview he states that, "there is no link between fructose and cardiometabolic diseases," however he didn't deny being paid to do research by Coca Cola when asked about it, he said there is unrestricted funding. Dr Seivenpiper then went on to say that if Damon went on a high fat content diet he would experience the same effects as he would on a high sugar diet.

Interviews benefit documentaries by giving the viewer different perspective on a certain subject rather that's just the opinion of the host.

Interview with Gary Taubes 1:07:18
"The sugar industry is trying to push the idea that a calorie is a calorie is a colorise, yet these calories do dramatically different things in the body"
"The sugar industry stepped in to ensure that their product wasn't vilified" "they stepped in when the evidence was ambiguous and make sure it is always ambiguous" if anyone ever links sugar to diseases such as liver disease and other chronic metabolic diseases the sugar industry is dead. So the sugar industry relies on misleading the public to maintain the idea that sugar can be a part of a healthy diet when realistically it can't be. Sugars annual trade costs 50billion dollars and of the industry was to fail the results would be disastrous.

- Damon Gameau tells us that: "5 years ago he was living off cigarettes, sugar and his homemade Australian pizzas. After meeting his girlfriend, he completely cut off sugary foods from his diet." This use to cause him both mental and physical damage to him.
- Larry Hammons, a 17 year old teenager living in Kentucy, is a victim of Mountian Dew. Mountian Dew is a drink which contains large quantities of sugar. Larry said he always had a drink in his hand everywhere he went and he's been drinking it since he was 2-3yrs old. Due to drinking 4-5 bottles a day (equivalent to at least 12 cans), the sugar has had physical damage to his teeth causing them to corrode and fall apart. At the time when he met with Damon, he was 8 days way from turning 18. He told Damon that he wanted to remove all his teeth and replace them with drenches because he was looked down upon because of his teeth. "My 18th birthday is in 8 days. People looked down upon me because of my teeth" "As a kid, I didn't care about my teeth
- Damon had spent time with the aboriginal community before: "in 2002, I spent sometime with an aboriginal community, and was stunned by the amount of sugar they consumed."
- Damon shows the audience a picture of him at 10yrs old: "And this photo of me aged 10. I was a rare boy whose face grew into his teeth."

- first person narration lets Damon speak directly to the audience about his own experiences making what we seeing and hearing much more believable.

Physically- Damon can tell us facts about the effects sugar has on his body for example he tells hs that after only 60 days of eating the average Australian intake of sugar he gained 8 kg and added 10 cm to his waistline.

Mentally- At the start of the movie he is more switched on and alert and the quality is a lot better, he is better for viewing as he is lively and makes the movie more entertaining, then near the end of the movie he is a lot more tired, slurred speech and isn't really switched on which dulls the movie and tends to bore the audience due to him not giving that extra spark as his mind has been taken over by the thoughts of sugar.
