Nicholas the second stepped down from the throne. He was going to pass it down to one of his sons but he refused. His son refusing sent the Russian Empire to end.

The US declared war on the German Empire entering World War 1. There are a couple reasons the US finally declared war: Germany's unrestricted warfare, the Zimmerman Telegram, and we wanted to help the other countries. American troops and suplies were added the the Allied powers.

Rain and mud defined this battle. It rained for three weeks in a row so soldiers had to fight in mud. there were heavy casualties on both sides. The allied powers won.

Britain made a statement that supported Palestine being the national home for Jewish people, which turned in a letter. The British secretary, Arthur James Balfour and others signed it. Britain did this to win Jewish support.

President Woodrow Wilson presented his 14 point plan for world peace at a joint congress. Some of his points were: the League of Nations, self- determination, and freedom of the seas. In the end the 14 points failed because he could not get the US on board.

A treaty signed by Soviet Russia and the Central powers. This treaty was to pull Russia out of the war. They left early because it was in the best interest of Russian Communists.

The President Lincoln was a troop transport ship. On its fifth delivery of men to France, the ship was hit by three torpedos from a German U-Boat. 26 people died and an officer was taken prisoner.

Kaiser Wilhelm the second lost support of the military and was forced to step down from his throne. He had to flee Germany and go to Holland. Power went to a leader of the leftwing Social Democratic Party.

Once the Germans heard word of Kaiser Wilhelm the second stepping down, they were told to sign the armistice. Their new government instructed them to do this. An Armistice is a political initiative where the military is extricated.

An Armistice was signed between Germans and Allied powers, it was singed at 11:00 am on November 11th. This signing ended world war one. On the last day of war 2,738 men died.

This was a peace treaty that officially ended World War 1. the treaty included: the creation the of the League of Nations, was very harsh on Germany, and the Mandate System. Germany was blamed for the war and had to pay 30 billion dollars in war reparations.

A post war treaty that abolished the Ottoman Empire and divided its land. It made Turkey renounce all rights over Arab Asia and North Africa. This made Turkey unhappy because they were close to achieving a Greek nationalist project called the Magali Idea.
