- Women and People of color are missing from the canon.
-The only thing that we can do about is to be open to all different kinds of music because I believe that we as human in general have a closed eye to music that we are not used to listening to. In a way I believe it is ignorance because we are immediately opposed to it due to the fact that we maybe uneducated to the background and culture of that genre.
-To interrogate the canon means to question how and why the genre generated.

Even with African-American composers after years of fighting for equal recognition, their symphony orchestras are not as great as people with fair skin due to the fact that the people who started the genre looked similar to them. In a New York Times article, composer T.J Anderson stated "We've been invisible".
