Extrinsic vs intrinsic motivation - As a teacher who used to teach students in the TRANSIT class, my SENO and I prepared reward charts to motivate the children to complete their tasks and give them little treats(e.g. additional 5-min break, stationeries, etc.) thereafter.


Were the children intrinsically motivated to complete those tasks? Probably not. Did they complete the tasks? Yes, they did. 😅

Am I the Marigold tree or the Walnut tree?

I am able to build good relationship with my students as they are the easiest. Even with parents, challenging but developing and we progressed. However, with colleagues, we are slowly progressing. I know that it is vital to build relationship with colleagues even though they may not like you. I learnt that i must always give them allowance to express just like how i gave that to my students and even to parents. Be supportive even when they may not agree with you.
