The United States is an example of a democracy that uses a decentralized two party system. The two parties are the Republican and Democratic parties. Due to this system, and the current state of politics in the U.S, the parties have become extremely polarized, which has led to lots of challenges in the various realms of government. This leads to trouble, particularly in the passing of laws, as when different parties control different aspects of the 3 branches, it leads to very little bills getting passed.

The problem with the two-party system in the U.S, is the way that representatives are picked. Since the popular vote doesn't coincide with the electoral vote, in many cases individuals are elected even though the majority doesn't want that person elected. Another issue with this system, particularly in America, is how we do have other parties than Republican and Democrat, only that they will not get votes or win, and merely take away votes from the two large parties, leading most people to believe voting 3rd part is a wasted vote.

Spain, although being a multiparty system, is decentralized, and uses proportional representation under a parliamentary monarchy. It has branches of Executive power, exercised by the Government, Legislative power, held in the Cortes Generales, and the judiciary which administers justice on behalf of the King.

In this system, votes are fufilled through Closed list, in which individuals votes just for a party, in which percentages for votes fill a number of seats, and the people come off the parties "list" of potential chairpeople.

Problem with this system is their may be susception to nepotism and corruption, as people cannot see directly who their are voting for, only for an ideal and belief held under these parties.
