It literally means "Maiden's Tower" in Turkish. The name comes from a legend: the Byzantine emperor heard a prophecy telling him that his beloved daughter would die at the age of 18 by a snake. So he decided to put her in this tower built on a rock on the Bosphorus isolated from the land thus no snake could 🤬 her. But she couldn't escape from her destiny after all, a snake hidden in a fruit basket brought from the city bit the princess and killed her.

I love there. Actually I love that walk from the Galata Tower to Eminönü. And I full of peace when I walk there. You can breath fresh air and watch the sea and fishers. This huge, palace-like underground hall, supported by 336 columns in 12 rows, once stored the imperial water supply for the Byzantine emperors. The project was begun by Constantine the Great but finished by Emperor Justinian in the 6th century. Many of the columns used in construction were recycled from earlier classical structures and feature decorative carvings. The most famous of these are the column bases known as the Medusa stones in the northwest corner with their Medusa head carvings. Çamlica, a place with two hills overlooking the Bosphorus and the Marmara Sea, is one of the most favored promenades in Istanbul, and also one of the highest and most charming places in the city. It's divided into two sections as "Büyük Çamlica" and "Küçük Çamlica", meaning "Big" and "Small". Büyük Çamlica is 267 meters above sea level and the other one is 228 meters.

The three museums combined contain more than 1 million objects from civilizations around the world. Founded in 1891, it was the first Turkish museum, and was located on the Topkapi Palace grounds. The Tiled Kiosk dates back to 1472. The museums contain thousands of precious artifacts, including the sarcophagus of Alexander the Great.

Pasha is now known as Emirgan Grove. Yusuf Pasha, who was friends with Evliya Celebi, lived there for a while. After his execution, the guard was given to Ismail Pasha of Egypt. Yellow, Pink and White Kiosks were built in this period. It has been turned into a public area since 1943 and belongs to Istanbul Municipality. The 500,000-square-meter grove is one of the few green areas on the Bosphorus and is one of the popular promenade areas in the city. There are many types of parrots in the woods. It is also possible to see seasonal birds. Squirrels, beetles and butterflies are the mainstays of both visitors and photographers.
