I am an Assistant Principal at an Independent Study Charter School for Middle School and High School Students. My example of culturally responsive Math teaching is in my Math teacher's class at the beginning of the semester. He has his students do family shields/crests and then make posters of "them" to decorate the classroom and share with the other students; they include favorite food, family, pets, hobbies, etc... My goal today is to leave here knowing how I can be a better administrator and able to guide my teachers through PLCs better.
