Evidence 3 supports the claim that natural selection happened because there was a drought the finches with smaller beaks had to adapt to their new environment because the finches with smaller beaks died cause they couldn't open the tribulus seeds leading to starvation. Overtime due to natural selection the beaks grew/got bigger so then finch could eat the tribulus seeds.

Evidence 2 supports the claim that natural selection happened because after the drought the medium ground finch population beak size grew dramatically, meaning that the medium ground finch population had evolved during and after the drought to survive. The reason they had evolved so quickly is because all the portulaca seeds had withered away causing the medium ground finch population to go through natural selection to survive in their new environment.

Evidence 1 supports the claim that natural selection happened because since there was a lack of food causing the medium ground finch population to decrease the medium ground finch then needed to go through evolution and get larger and thicker beaks to survive and to eat the tribulus seed.
