without context of the poem, there is a stronger conotation of violence, anger, rebellion.
the use of the epigraph gives me this sense that all of us will die eventually, the idea of 'ashes to ashes, dust to dust' we are no more than what we are made of, and what is eventually doomed upon is in this life. 
but then have we really lived?
