I am Skyller Smith. Welcome to my Padlet blog post.

I absolutely love a game called Team Fortress 2. There are many reasons why I love this game, but I'll give you a brief overview. To start things, this is a game that came out in 2007 as of last, it is a 17-year-old game, and it has held the test of time, still managing upwards of 50,000 gamers daily this game is a star and adored by me and thousands of others for 2 main reasons, which boils down to style and gameplay. TF2 is a very aesthetically pleasing game with an instantly recognizable art style. In addition to this, TF2 is a very simple game at its core, only holding 9 different classes, but these are its key; they are all fun with unlockables that can completely change the way you play the game in the end. It's a 10/10 game

One of my role models is Ryan Reynolds, as he has had a very successful acting career, which I aspire to have; he has also made efforts to help fight testicular cancer and is just a great guy.

One academic goal I have is to have straight A's. Something that might stop me from achieving this goal is my trouble focusing and my procrastination. One thing I will do to help achieve my goals is to get my homework done immediately. Another thing is to focus whole class last, I will try to ask for help when I need it, and not let my ego get to me.

I think to have heroic virtue, you have to save or help lots of people intentionally, especially if it puts yourself at risk.

3 examples of St. Pier Giorgio Frassati doing heroic virtue are: serving the poor and sick in secret. Born to a wealthy and prominent family, he often went unnoticed when he dedicated himself to serving the poorest people of Turin, Italy. He would give away his clothes, shoes, and money, even contracting the poliomyelitis that would lead to his death from those he was helping.

Persevering in his prayer life despite family disapproval: His parents were not religious and often misunderstood or disapproved of his piety. He bore their impatience silently and patiently, continuing to pray daily, including the rosary, and attending daily Mass and Eucharistic adoration.

Sacrificing his own romantic desires for the sake of his family's peace: He fell deeply in love with a woman, but chose to sacrifice the relationship because he knew his parents, who had a difficult marriage, would never approve of her, and that insisting on the marriage would worsen their already strained relationship.

St. Carlo Acutis Demonstrated Heroic Virtue by:

Making the Eucharist the center of his life: He called the Eucharist his "highway to heaven" and attended daily Mass and Eucharistic Adoration, making great efforts to deepen his own and others' faith in the Real Presence of Christ.

Using his computer skills for evangelization: As a teenager, he taught himself to code and created a website to catalog and share information about Eucharistic miracles around the world, making the faith accessible through modern technology.

Practicing temperance and making sacrifices: Despite enjoying things like video games and snacks, he limited his gaming time and would forgo treats, offering these sacrifices for the souls in Purgatory. He also had a great sensitivity for the poor and would use his own allowance to buy food and sleeping bags for the homeless.

I would like to be remembered for 2 things. I would like to be remembered by strangers as an actor who did all he could to make people happy, especially when they were down. I would like to be remembered by close family and friends as a kind hard worker.

On July 16, 1945, the first-ever nuclear bomb was tested. It was an overwhelming "success." Only 24 days later, a second atomic bomb was dropped on Japan, leaving Japan in an irreparable state—one which they would never truly recover from. Survivors give horrific descriptions, ones that scarred their minds forever. These descriptions I will not burden you with reading. This was all a result of America playing god. Wielding power no human, nation, or earthly creature should have.

This leads into why god doesn't want us to do everything ourselves. because we make mistakes. sometimes drastic, terrible mistakes.

In my very first post on this platform, I pledged to get all A's and... I did it felt amazing. But there is a problem with the way I phrased my previous goal; there isn't a good way to expand and do even better. So this semester, I will not just scrape by with 90%'s, I will get 94% in all of my classes. To achieve this, I plan on making reminders to check on homework so I do not have to take any point deductions from silly things like forgetting homework. I might struggle with focusing, but I know I can achieve this goal.

This Lent, I could try to be kind to everyone and help everyone out whenever they need help. This could be difficult because not everyone wants help, and people like to be mean even to the people trying to be kind.

I could try to give up scrolling through shorts and fix my attention span. This will be difficult because shorts are designed to be addictive. But if I succeed, it might become easy for me to be patient and wait around longer.

I could do loads of extra volunteer hours this Lent. This might be difficult because not all service hours are fun, and it's not always easy to get opportunities. This would benefit me directly by getting me service hours.
