         <title>1793- Samuel Slater and the Sewing Industry</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Samuel Slater, a skilled textile mechanic, came to America in 1789. he started making waves only 3 years later in 1793 when he opened Slater Mills, a factory mostly based around sewing. The factory consisted of machines like the Loom, Spinning Jenny, and so on. Slater was a skilled mechanic and knew not only how to make machines, but how to operate them. When he opened, people would always sew with their hands, so this modern idea caused a boost in the sewing industry and was the supposed starting point of the industrial revolution in America.</div>]]></description>

         <title>1798- Interchangeable Parts</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>in 1798, a man named Eli Whitney had an idea. at this time, people had problems with breaking parts. one part would break, and they would have to buy an entire new version of that item. this stood true for instruments, guns, clocks, etc. and with each part made differently by every smith, it was almost impossible. so Eli thought of a solution. "interchangeable parts" was the idea, and it was parts that could be switched out if they broke. when he first presented the idea, officials laughed. but after a quick demonstration where Eli successfully made ten guns without designated parts, the idea spread. move ahead of late 1798, and Eli had opened a new world for all kinds of technology. </div>]]></description>

         <title>1800s- Lowell Girls </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The northeast was the community that seemed to grow the most in the industrial revolution, and Massachusetts is no exception. Francis Calbot Lowell, a man looking to advance the sewing industry, decided to combine all the machines that fill the process to make clothes, and merge them, making one factory that turned cotton into clothes material. after he died, his friends, rather than giving up the idea, decided to build off it, and make a factory town with the name of Lowell. though it started with only 3 families, at its prime, it held 10000 people, all dedicated to a modest community. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Places like Lowell had a lot of machines, and needed a lot of manpower to be operated. managers turned to children and women, noticing how children could fit in small spaces, and as most families had many children, leading to children as young as 7 years old being sent to factories to make a living to help their parents. women had always been the members of the family to sew, and so many thought it was only natural for them to operate in the factories, especially because machinery took less effort than handiwork did.          <title>1825- Farming Advances</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>As production increased, Farmers found that the demand for many ingredients or products was rising. thus, the farmers had to find better ways to farm. One of the first inventions that changed this was the Iron Plow. It was invented by Jethro Wood in 1825 in an effort to increase how fast farming went. though the machine wasn't incredibly fast, as it was pulled by oxes, it made up for this speed loss in power. it was capable of farming more area than was previously possible, which allowed farmers to begin to catch up to the high demand and quick production, and allowed the market to progress even more then before. Progress even sped up years later when the Steel plow was invented, it wasn't as powerful, but being pulled by horses, it was cheaper and more efficient overall</div>]]></description>

         <title>1800s- Urbanization</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>With factories being a huge success, more people saw job opportunities, and moved to areas near the factories. this caused what's called Urbanization, in which old cities grew by a length, and new cities started popping up everywhere. as many took the opportunity to move out of rural areas to more urban areas, many people started to grow out of farming, excited by the new novelty inventions that were starting to pop up.&nbsp;Though the cities did not go on forever, and though the buildings were not infinitely tall, these cities were everything to people looking for a profit.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In 1846, Elias Howe built the first sewing machine. this came from a lack of space to fit things. in an effort to make all of the parts come together to make clothes faster and in a smaller space, he put together separate inventions and made it. immedietly, it hit off with the sewing industry. though they already had factories that made clothes, this advancement allowed something as small as a house to become an industry, and allowed factories to expand without making a larger building. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In 1834, a different kind of novelty came to being. the Cast Iron stove wasn't just for cooking, but i also hit it off with many others looking to produce goods. it sold over 90,000, and needless to say, the inventor, Philo Stewart, was both proud and rich after making it. This invention advanced the blacksmithing industry as well as the cooking industry, and changed the market, as now there were more diverse options.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In 1844, communication throughout the country changed forever. Samuel Morse, after working on the idea for years, finally completed the first Telegraph. The reason this was so big, was because before the invention, people who went across the country had almost no way to contact their family.  However, this changed when the invention surfaced. almost everyone took a liking and you could find a telegraph in almost every home. This was because it had multiple purposes. One, it allowed families to contact each other, two, it allowed news to travel much faster, and much more efficiently, and three, it gave birth to the novelty of Morse code, invented by morse himself.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Late 1800s- Pollution</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Industrial Revolution wasn't all good however, because with the mass production in cities came pollution. and with pollution came all sorts of problems. polluted water led to diseases that spread all over cities due to the high amount of people, and the polluted air led to an overall unhealthy lifestyle. Though the diseases were running rampant, production did stop, or even slow. if anything, with each new invention, money generated faster and faster, and factories expanded, which in the end, only led to more pollution.</div>]]></description>
